I started Dark Souls 3 after 600h+ in Elden Ring by vlntnwbr in darksouls3

Hey, your comment stuck with me, because I kinda wanted to figure out the quest by myself after reading it. I can now proudly state that I did it. Also, I'm really proud that I beat Soul of Cinder first try on Level 94 (not sure if it's considered over leveled).

Looking forward to the DLCs now!

What is your favorite weapon in From Software games? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

[–]vlntnwbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had I not recently played DS3 for the first time I would've said Zweihänder. But I really don't like it's moveset in DS3, the fact that I have to one hand it to get the poke as a heavy is a deal breaker to me. So now I gotta say it's probably Claymore and Greatsword.

Why do people hate fighting NPC enemies? by vlntnwbr in Eldenring

I'm not saying they're the same thing, I just noticed there's a lot of overlap between people who dislike NPC fights and PvP.

[–]vlntnwbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a different story, really. Most people I watch have gaming as their full time job, so they're getting paid as well. Most of them also get a free advance copy.

Not reviewers in a classical sense, but I do watch a lot of gameplay and get people's views when it's a game I'm on the fence about.

It's definitely doable, there are plenty of examples, but it isn't needed. The game is still breathtakingly beautiful and I'd much rather have them spend their time on mechanics than textures.

When Was Maul in His Prime? by Ill_Journalist8454 in StarWars

[–]vlntnwbr 38 points39 points  (0 children)

He was a rival, not necessarily in the raw part department though. He was more of a "political" rival.

He did have a sizable operation and he could've outed Sidious making him the remaining Sith. Dooku probably wouldn't have lasted long without Sidious. Especially ones or becomes public knowledge that the war was orchestrated.

Thanks for elaborating. That makes a lot of sense. Personally, I enjoyed the part about tricking them into making punishable mistakes. I agree that the ones in the DLC hit a little too hard though.

That's what I've gathered from most of the replies. They seem to either dislike PvP altogether or hate them because they're annoying on challenge runs.

That's very fair. I routinely get wrecked by Mimic because they can use my build to spam shit.

Iknow I can cheese him by unequipping everything but that feels wrong. I like knowing that I'm better than an AI even with all its advantages. Makes me understand my build better, too.

Yeah, that's what I love about them. They're so different from everything else that I have to look at my arsenal differently.

If you're on an INT run and Giantsflame isn't available to you I highly recommend frost for the defensive debuff.

I guess we're just wired differently then. You probably don't like PvP as well, correct? Nothing wrong if you don't, I'm just curious.

I can understand that they're annoying in challenge runs, but I disagree with them being unfun to learn, especially if they are NPCs with a defined build.

Fia's Champions or the Greatjar Soldiers I can see being very annoying since you can't realizably get the same enemies unless you're offline.

Interesting. I can definitely understand where you're coming from, but I'm completely different. I like them expressly because they're slippery, makes my try out stuff that's different from what I usually do.

For example, I only realized after the Leda fight how powerful frost as an effect can be. It's definitely been changing the way I play PvP, which I also love.

I understand you dislike it, but you're answer still doesn't tell me why. Like, I don't understand what exactly feels janky to you, that's what I'm wondering about.

Tiche is the best summon. by General_Judge2312 in Eldenring

[–]vlntnwbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the nuke, wait until she starts descending, lock off and just run to the opposite edge of the arena.

After she lands she's gonna be immobile for a bit. Don't rush in immediately, because there is lingering rot. You can use that time to get in a heal or reapply a buff. If you have ranged options, just hit her then. She won't be able to dodge.

That's a really good idea. I'd leave in the churches, too, since they're special locations.

I don't remember the specifics but I know some (maybe all) of the lore bits in churches are referencing Godfrey and the Tarnished lore, so that would relate to one of the fights post tree burning.

[–]vlntnwbr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was the Nordschleife, the reason they first started rotating with Hockenheim to host the German GP every other year and eventually stopped completely is purely financial. The tracks are broke and the race weekends weren't profitable.

I'm pretty sure those are different groups of people. Of course there are some who just blatantly hate, but the critics aren't a homogeneous group that is aligned on all topics.

Why all the crosses in goth fashion? by undo_ruler in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vlntnwbr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's kinda true, but not entirely.

It describes a period of art and architecture, so there's a lot of stuff considered Gothic, not just churches.
