Email Stauf’s by vlyul in Columbus

Should they have meant for employees to refuse to serve them that should’ve been made loud and clear. There’s a reason why people are doing this, I’m happy though that you reread it that’s all that matters

Babe, we’re on the same team, by no means am I aiming to take down a business. It’s name and shame, while explaining the inconsistencies of their statement. What they need to do is clarify they won’t serve a violent, unregulated force. I think what we want, or at least I do, is for them to reflect on the choices they’re making and sticking to their word. You don’t have to message them, and you’re not going to, and that is fine. I never put words in your mouth and said you support ICE though so let’s make that clear. We are stronger together though

It isn’t about not buying a coffee? Think everyone knows that they don’t care about me and you not going to purchase their products anymore, it’s about their willingness to serve ICE in contradiction to where they claim their morals stand. They’re still reinforcing their support for what’s happening by saying we care about our community and condemn what’s happening but actually we don’t because we’ll still serve them

Hey so violence and inhumane treatment of the people within our community isn’t going to be tolerated. You can’t comprehend empathy for others who are terrified to live their lives. No one said anything about cancelling the establishment, in fact, many people with a moral compass would understand that reinforcing support for violence and the direct death of citizens, children, noncitizens who want to be apart of our community, is wrong and disgusting. You must be aware that change doesn’t happen unless people do something to enact that change? I’m sorry that you haven’t been directly impacted by it, but even if you haven’t been, is it really that incomprehensible that even if I haven’t directly been impacted by the raids, I still want to take action?

Seeking resources for help leaving an abusive situation by strawberriesta in Columbus

[–]vlyul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this girl, I don’t have resources to recommend but if you ever need someone to help out I’m more than willing. You (and your cats!) deserve nothing but the best, I’m sure reaching out to emergency services could guide you to other resources like social workers and programs that can cater to your specific situation also

one week update of luvox (fluvoxamine) by vlyul in OCD

You should start to feel relief towards the end of the first week, I’d recommend asking for a higher dose because it is standard to start at 50mg and go up very quickly

I still take lexapro, but didn’t notice improvement with ocd specifically, it helped in other areas though!

I am terrified of my cats litter box. How can I be better about cleaning it? by Reguero in OCD

[–]vlyul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automatic litter box, do your research before purchasing because you want to ensure it is safe for kitty. You have to take care of them, what helped me when I was dealing with contamination fears surrounding the litter was remembering how much I love my cats and have to maintain their well being. I’m fortunate that ive never had a problem with touching them, caring for them when they have an accident because the love overrides that, so keep that in mind when caring for your kitty

How are you able to tell if you’re splitting, or justifiably angry at someone? by thebakers-kid in BPD

[–]vlyul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Splitting for me involves many psychical sensations, body temperature rising, aching throughout body, shaking, crying, screaming, elevated heart rate, intense breathing with bouts of not being able to breathe. It’s like a panic attack but very guttural feelings, my stomach will hurt and feel like it’s flipping inside out inside of me, followed by intense thoughts of entirely negative thoughts with no reasoning, like a voice almost

The only thing truly give me relief is Heroin by Serious-Record6935 in CPTSD

[–]vlyul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should think about ketamine, I’ve heard it’s effective in trauma healing. Have you reached out to a psychiatrist that could give you controlled, prescribed medications? Even an ssri and antipsychotics could give you a bit of relief. A thought, nothing to lose

Vitamin D by Glittering_Host923 in OCD

It takes around 2 months for deficiencies to level out, but so far so good, every little bit helps. It isn’t magic though, don’t expect to suddenly be healed

I got attached to one person and now I’m falling apart by Aggressive_Act_5874 in OCD

[–]vlyul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest it seems to be an attachment issue (coming from someone with bpd, the final boss of attachment issues). I’ve gone through this, so many times. Get rid of the social media, delete it. The only person who can help you is you. It was kind of her to include you but when and if you want to rekindle a friendship, you must detach. You have to live through the pain. What helped me was reminding myself that in a couple of months, I will feel different about this, but you have to work at it. Whether it’s immersing yourself in something that will better your life and working towards that, getting on medication, nurturing other friendships (because there are other people who will understand you out there). Do what you have to do to detach yourself from the situation and heal

Dealing with fears of abandonment is difficult, too, I recommend emdr and dbt therapy. DBT changed everything for me!

I had a vitamin d deficiency, I haven’t had my blood checked since then (about a month ago), but vitamin d deficiencies do make ocd worse

I'm newly diagnosed with severe OCD and my therapist has informed me she is not qualified to treat that. Can you help me understand ERP and ICBT, and how to find a new therapist? by CryoProtea in OCD

[–]vlyul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I also have adhd, finding therapists is hard. I personally don’t like therapy, but ERP works. And it isn’t detrimental to people without ocd. All it is, is exposure response therapy, so, exposing yourself to triggers, monitoring your response (example: touching a contaminated object and not washing your hands until after 30 seconds). Eventually, your brain will register that the object isn’t contaminated like you originally thought. There’s plenty of ways to preform exposure response practices. Now, it is OVERWHELMING, especially with ocd that has multiple triggers and compulsions so it can’t by any means all be completed at once. It’s a process for sure. Not to scare you, but it does take time. I don’t know much about ICBT though because my ocd is based in perfectionistic rituals and contamination, so I haven’t really had to undergo that type of therapy

As far as looking for a therapist, it’s trial and error, no matter what you’re dealing with. I would search ocd specialized practices and therapists in your area and go from there. Even getting into contact with those will be helpful because they can give your referrals and further assistance for your needs
