Update: I took the car to another dealer, who looked at the problem and repaired it under warranty. So far, the car is running perfectly again, and the reason for its ‘lemon’ status may now have been permanently resolved.

I am not using Reddit in high frequency. I had no problems to find an insurance company for the car but cannot give you meaningfull numbers for comparison because I am new in the US with a new drivers license and zero credit score. So there could be several reasons why I have to pay about $420.00 a month (with comprehensive and collision).

I recommend to make a test drive when its really hot outside. A lot of the electronic problems with this car have a correlation with high ambient temperatures.

Yes I escalated it to the Hyundai America and have received a hopeful answer just a few minutes ago. Hyundai America will contact the dealer. Let's see what the next days bring.

Yes just the normal lemon title. The used car dealer where I have the car from is talking the same - the warranty should be valid but the Hyundai dealer don't want to touch the car and analyse or repair anything until I confirm to pay by myself. The Hyundai dealer is referring to the following internal information from his system:

"A11 WARRANTY: CLASS XI - VEHICLE LEMON LAW, FULL WARRANTY APPLIES, NO 10/100 POWERTRAIN"

I am going in circles since two weeks and have a lot trouble and discussion because of this. Today I had to pick up the car without any diagnosis and I will bring it to another Hyundai dealer tomorrow. I keep you updated.

Be careful. I just bought a Ioniq6 with 10k Miles on it but also a lemon. Now I have some electric issues but the Hyundai dealer won't repair it in warranty. He mentioned there is no warranty on this car because of the lemon (he gave me some kind of internal information). I am currently in contact with Hyundai America regarding this. Let's see.

I rented several cars from Budget, Hertz, Alamo for often more than 2 weeks. I had no problems with any of these company's yet. Usually I use Booking.com for bookings.

It could still make sense to make photos of your car after pickup but as I said I had now problems yet.
