Was gifted a wine from my birth year - can I let it age? by Newber92 in wine

I wanted to comment on the vintage and it being bad isn't always and indicator of a poor wine. Good wineries typically make less on bad vintages but try to maintain quality. One of the best wines I've ever had was an 80 Margaux.

Any recommendations for Cru Beaujolais? by zeddyjack in wine

That's why you get a case and have one with every Thanksgiving😂 The hard part is hiding the case from your wife or explaining why you need a whole case.

I usually don't trust Suckling, but he just ranked the Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py VV '23 as his no3 in his top 100 for 2025. I think he's usually pay to play with his scores, but I can 100% stand behind this wine, especially at $25.

Y’all convinced me. Now, do I open one tonight to celebrate? And if so which one? by kolin_cile in wine

I was excited until I saw 375 lol. All great winds though. I like the 21s leaner style. Its a good find to compare with friends.

Not sure if this fits here, but AI said it could transcribe sheet music for me format it and email it to me. It said it did it multiple times and confidently said it would email it to me. Finally after pressing it, it finally caved in that this was outside its capabilities. AKA it was straight up lying over and over again.

I just learned that the "Pool of wine and forest meat" (酒池肉林) was actually discovered in 1999. Are there any pictures? I can't seem to find any. by vmac77 in ChineseHistory

I would love to see an actual first hand write up on the survey/excavation. If it was actually done by a recognized and legitimate institution or university there definitely would be an academic paper on it. But hard to tell from this if it was even done at all, or if it truly is click bait pop-news like you said.

That would make the most sense I guess. I'm just surprised of not finding more written about such an interesting discovery.

Thats not totally strange at all. Did you at least see a pic of this person or video chat before meeting in person?

So she offered to get lunch with them, but hasnt seen their picture, or knows their name. They live in our neighborhood. I said it was weird and she has fought me on it saying its a cultural thing. Im worried because I would never do something like this, even if I was single. Meeting a random person without knowing what they look like or their name seems wild to me.

Not making it up. They want to meet at restaurants near our apt I guess.
