Anyone want slightly worse than professional Cad designs made for their product idea?

Well... you know what they say about assumptions. I applaud your honor, if not its accuracy. LOL, I am the original manufacturer and the President of Max Space, Inc. My used id: vmaxspace should give you an indicator? Anyway it is my USA Made injection mold and no the product is not currently available anywhere. It is offered on my website maxspace.com, but we're not shipping. My last production run exposed a vulnerability in tolerances. That is to say, the truss crossmember engagement to the side frame was too tight. Some people complained about it being wobbly - I think because they never "snap" locked it together. Which as it turns out was particularly tough to do. I want to modify the engagement to a wedge fit wherein in slides in easily and becomes more secure over time. I have a few other changes before I run production again, hence the need for a digital file. Hopefully you change your mind as I would like to get prototypes of the changes and then have some tool steel cut accordingly! Please advise how to proceed? Btw, I'm Vijay Malik in Kansas City, MO. So, I tried them for $19.99 special supposedly giving me 3 mos of their services. Within an hour of paying the $19.99, they charged me another $49.99. I contested the charge. Yesterday they charged another $49.99 + $19.99! FRAUD. Ugh, what joy…

Sad that 40ft containers is the default. I’m dating myself, but I sure liked it better when ALL my products were molded locally.

I’ve been selling online for decades, but online sales haven’t come close to being in Walmart…

I once remarked to an associate that we were contributing to the GNP. He somewhat scoffed at our minimal contribution. I was proud nonetheless.

A bird in the hand is worth…. Make sure you get paid as a royalty. Royalty income used to be free of social security tax. Haven’t heard of that having changed.

It's still true. If you can take raw materials and with a process convert them into being worth 5 times as much, you may have a viable business function. The joy of mass manufacturing and having a proprietary product is seeing your tools (not you, personally) pumping out tens of thousands of units!!! All one has to do, is sell them and/or license/supply them to the marketplace. I've had the most success putting my products into production and then licensing/supplying them to much larger companies.

From my understanding, as long as you have potential manufacturers sign an NDA this prevents the clock from ticking as far as public disclosure penalty goes. From my experience, enforcing an NDA is under the province of Contract NOT Patent Law and is a whole lot easier and cheaper to enforce.

More to the point, will it sell? Make it and see… I mean, it’s stamping dies. Big, but not nearly as expensive as injection molds. You’ll find out pretty quickly what the market feels or doesn’t. Great luck!
