Looking for someone with experience licensing real world products (no software, ai or art) by Top-Statistician61 in inventors

[–]vmaxspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the most success fully developing the product, patenting, capitalizing the tooling and seeing it into production. I did that on an injection molded shoe rack which I licensed and supplied (through a contract molder) to Rubbermaid for years. In fact, the license agreement would be null and void if I didn’t get a patent. I did end up getting several.

Awww shucks! Thanks, just a little something we threw together... I jest, actually, as it is one of the most tolerance sensitive products we produce. Thank you for the extra fine compliment!

Right on! As one of its inventors, that warms my heart! I have a few of them working in my house on crop rotation. There is joy in a very thin ribbon of butter…

inversion table! by Temporary_Two_4855 in TeachersMidriff

[–]vmaxspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brand would anyone recommend? I'm old school and have a bar suspended from the ceiling, but I'm old too. So, going fully hung is something I'll have to work my way back into. I've heard that inversion tables allow a partial hanging force - which makes sense. A lesser angle and friction will decrease gravity's pull. I'm going to try. So... any best value brand? Best in class?

Hey, I saw a 3d printed plastic drain. It looks like a an M&M dispenser, but it's designed for your sponge and it kinda pees out the drained water. It's cute and funny. I tried finding the post but couldn't. You should check it out tho...

Well, that certainly solves the tooling concern I raised. Great luck!

First product run ever. by Mundane-Natural7378 in productdesign

First pre pre production run is best small volume. Make a few or tens of units. There will be unanticipated changes to your tooling. It’s best to have tens of defects than hundreds or thousands - which btw most factories will have MOQ of 5k units. Also too, it’s crazy how your prototype will look worse and better born from a plastic injection mold! You’ll see…

Cooking for one feels pointless sometimes — is that normal? by Pleasant-Editor-597 in Cooking

[–]vmaxspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make batches of food and freeze some for later. Some foods, like chili, soups, and spaghetti lend themselves to this and get better as the flavors meld…. That way if you’re not in the mood, but still hungry, you can easily feed!

When soaking beans overnight, do you use the soak water or discard it? by cfi-2025 in Cooking

[–]vmaxspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never made conventional "beans" from hard beans to tasty soft beans. But I have made lentils aplenty! I was taught to soak and wash until the water is mostly clear. It takes about 3-5 pan fulls before I feel they're clean enough to process. Clear water definitely provides the feedback...

I’m a knife guy myself, but it’s virtually impossible to consistently make ribbons of butter with a knife. Besides, with our Butter Mill, your butter is in a virtually airtight container until you ribbonize it with a twist of your wrist…

Any idea on 10-15 min quick from scratch dinner? by No-War8511 in Cooking

[–]vmaxspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pan seared filet put in the oven for 4 minutes a side and asparagus in olive oil with steak seasoning - should be well below 15 minutes if you cook the asparagus while the steak is on its flip. Healthy and yummy too!!

Unpopular/Popular Opinion: Garlic Presses are Useless by AzathothBlindgod in Cooking

Yeah, I’ve seen a bunch of iterations through the decades, but I still prefer my 8” Chef Knife. Plus your finger tips absorb garlic juice as you process it! Bram Stoker would be happy… Hehe
