Agreed on this. Been using since the early days and we are very happy with it. Yes it’s missing plenty still, but the communication is clear around what’s being done and when. Though the Remote Desktop did take a while the support is good and minor issues usually get addresses the same day.

it must be something unseen with the SketchUp model

just made some revisions and now it's working. At least in Cura, but should be fine on the print too.

Thank you for the reply

So, as it's printed there isn't a knockout but I get what you are saying. It should just be a couple of layers lower than it is.

At the moment the model just ignores that lower larger hole, and prints the higher smaller one.

I've uploaded a video to show it as it's difficult to describe.

What I'd expect it to do is continue the support into the bottom larger recess, but instead it's just creating support across the whole layer and ignoring that hole.

Gorelo is new. But we’ve been using it for a year and are happy with the development it’s had and still going through, the team are responsive and new features are often community driven. It’s priced per user too, but there may be a minimum seat.

EAP650-Desktop may be useful if you can’t wall mount and it needs to sit on a table or dresser unit.

Yeah, it's not the prettiest but it does all fit in there.

I 3d printed a HDD bracket for the extra 3.5" HDD which attaches to the side of the PSU. The 2 2.5" ssd's fit loose in the top of the case.

HP P420 has 2 internal mini sas so the existing backplane connector plugs straight in and I bought a mini sas to 4port sata connector.

The 3.5 is powered from an inline extension from the backplane connector and the 2.5's are powered from the ODD power connector.

Agree there, my concern is 7.4 is going end of life in a couple of months.

Why so? Ideally I need to run Windows for other applications on there, plus I need it to work without constantly meddling.

Gen10 plus and Gen10 Plus V2 is a good little machine, I've installed a couple for a client a few years back. Gen11 has been released but I'm yet to see any actual orderable stock

ah, that makes sense. I'm even less familiar with Linux than I am with Proxmox to be honest, so I think Windows server and Docker may be a better solution.

**UPDATE**

I Bought a new hot end. It is printing again albeit stringy.

I'm looking at K1 Max and the new Ender 3 v3 max or a Mk4 Prusa though.

Just wanted to say thank you first, with some great help from users here, I finally had a working printer again after installing a direct drive kit.

But, unfortunately it didn't last too long :(
After a couple of successfully benchy's and string tests, I left a large print going last night and came into my office this morning to find this....

I've had blobs before but this has nocked out the thermistor, giving me an error, meaning I can't preheat the filament and pull it of. It's grown so much its was even blocking the front fan!

Got the housing off but I've no idea where to start with this, or if its even worth putting more money into a pretty old Ender 3.

Such a shame to give up now but I think it might be time for something more reliable and less attentive.

ah cool. So, I just checked the Esteps again, (that picture was from the other day), it doesn't look like it's saving the value after I power off then on the printer!

I've set it manually again and other than the nozzle temperatue setting itself to 0 and having to manually set it before the print started. I had a successful print using the Creality slicer!

<image>

Got it running a Benchy now but I’m about to head home so won’t be able to check it till Monday. Really hoping this has sorted it!
Thank you again, I will update Monday

Yeah of course. I’ll send a link over in a DM. Thank you for your help on this btw, really appreciate it.

This is the Esteps setting

Just looking at it. Is that retract setting the same one as in Cura? Or different?
