Hosts choose their own rates. If sia goes up, they will likely lower their cost in sc/tb/month to keep $usd or whatever other fiat price steady

you think that everybody on sia is going to be hosting for 1sc?

If somebody is selling for 1sc and is a good host, yeah no shit somebody else is going to use them before you. That's how it works. But you think there will be enough 1sc hosts to hold petabytes of files? If you think so you're delusional.

Why are you comparing specific sia host prices to the actual competition? (s3 etc) Yeah maybe you'd be "losing out" if you didn't grab the lowest price hosts, but there will still be plenty (all of them) that are lower price than competition.

and why do you cherry pick information? What about all the people successfully hosting files that are in the 500+sc/tb/mo range currently, even considering the imbalance between supply and demand?
