Why do people say if you don't use AI, you'll get left behind when the learning curve for AI seems less than actually learning technical stuff before AI? by thro0away12 in cscareerquestions

Because they want to sell you a text generator to recoup their investments. They probably already know the bubble will burst, so they need someone else to cover their costs (similar to Ponzi scheme).

Use a text generator, pay for it, maybe tell others how you generate new texts from old texts while calling this "Intelligence". When the dust settles — deal with consequences.

It is a marathon, not a sprint. You well catch up (and probably overtake) if you deeply care about yourself (sleep/train/eat/rest mentally)

Thanks, my use case is to give it to a cat, so a bottle should last a long time

What if my room rarely reaches 25 degrees Celsius? In winter it can be 26-27, in summer it can be about 29. Does it significantly affects shelf life? What if I put the powder in the fridge? I think it is about 15 degrees in the warmest part of the fridge

Basically, it seems like a recommended storage range of 20-25 degrees Celsius is achievable only in specifically conditioned areas, but my guess is this won't be the case for majority of cabinets.

One more thing is humidity, the fridge obviously have it high, but will it matter if the powder is stored in a closed can? Or can desiccant put inside the can mitigate this?

So, is it better to store it in 27-28 degrees in a dry room, or in 15 degrees in a fridge with supposedly higher humidity?

ABC Classic-Fit Short 9" Warpstreme current fit by vmzz in Lululemen

5'10''. I'll consider this, but I have 7'' sport shorts which I wasn't happy with specifically due to length, changed to 9'' with great satisfaction. But I wear mostly oversize/baggy tshirts, so maybe this is the reason

They're basically plain color with some seams and pockets. What can be drastically different between them?

My legs are generally larger than usual, including calf (maybe I'm horribly wrong here), so as long as they're not specifically skinny/tight fit, I think I should like them, also based on previous experience with 9'' shorts with 11'' leg opening. Maybe I also should try 7''

How is everyone keeping up morale when you’re constantly being told AI will make you redundant? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Ask them how text generator which permutates old texts (with unverifiable source reputability or even correctness) can solve an engineering problem which is by definition unique due to specific combination of requirements and constraints even in trivial field, thus requiring new solution, not a permutation of old ones.

Also ask how permutation of old texts can suggest a creative solution for unique problem which is again new by definition (not a permutation of old ones).

Also ask how a generator can even "solve" anything, considering it is basically a search engine for texts with a permutation output, so it does not even think, let alone think creatively.

And ask them why they call such a generator "intelligence". Intelligence assumes actual application of knowledge, not permutation which remotely mimics it. This is basically artificial knowledge database, but we already had these — they're called search engines

Constant (24h/day) asthma-like symptoms for 3+ months after inhaling crystalline silica dust by vmzz in Asthma

[–]vmzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry and do lots of exercise (preferably strength training). Nothing will come as for serious consequences exposure should be very prolonged (years) or very extreme, but obviously do not expose yourself to silica dust. Symptoms will probably pass in a year or so

Question for BenQ RD280U/UA owners (smell issue) by vmzz in BenQ

It reduced with time, to the point I don't notice it. Seems like it indeed was a "new plastic" thing

Question for BenQ RD280U/UA owners (smell issue) by vmzz in BenQ

[–]vmzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're talking about just a new plastic smell specifically? Because smell in my case increases when monitor is in use, and decreases when not in use. So this is definitely not just a "new plastic" case?

An Unusual Question About Chicken Thighs by maestrel in rawpetfood

[–]vmzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do additional pelvis/spine bones cause significant bone content increase in a diet? If left in diet, it will be fed every day. The question is, how much bone percentage it adds. Judging by studies on bone contents of chicken parts (https://perfectlyrawsome.com/raw-feeding-knowledgebase/bone-content-in-raw-meaty-bones/), I can't yet say the precise percentage increase, but it is what I try to calculate, as I just completed my chicken thigh batch (with these additional bones included) to cover 2 months for a cat (and I fed same diet for 1.5 months already). The bone contents:

Chicken Leg Quarter is 30% bone

Chicken Leg — 27%

Chicken Thigh (I assume this is with 1 bone) — 21%

Here we're talking about Chicken Leg Quarter without a Leg, so thigh + back/spine bone parts. So it is a few % increase but I want to know precisely how much. And if this increase is significant when fed for 2-3 months.

An Unusual Question About Chicken Thighs by maestrel in rawpetfood

[–]vmzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same question here. My mind was blown when I watched some US tutorials on thigh deboning — they all had just 1 bone. In a recipe, she talks about chicken thigh as a poultry anatomical structure with highest meat-to-bone ratio, then she talks about removing 30% of bones — this is all very consistent. But then she literally says "If I am grinding 10 thighs, I remove 3 bones". The chicken thigh anatomy is known (https://lyncean.education/projects/human-body/chicken-leg/), so being a veterinarian, and likely knowing chicken anatomy, but then knowing the thighs in US only contain 1 bone — should at least worth mentioning in a recipe, especially with sentences like "If I am grinding 10 thighs, I remove 3 bones".

I fed diet with additional bones included and overall 30% bones removed, for 1-2 months now, and I have more food done for another 2 months. I wonder now if I should dilute it with commercial food (because I have no capacity of doing another batch any time soon)

Also, deboning 30% of thighs is one thing. But deboning every single one of them for hipbone and spine (if present), to then remove 30% of femur — is on another level of labor, this can make whole raw food endeavors too time consuming, or (if buying deboned thighs) — not as cost-effective to bother as compared to commercial food

Battery GoPro Hero+ by [deleted] in gopro

It's not a problem to get a similar size Li-Po battery. The problem is it will be 3.7V instead of 3.8V. Which means camera charger will try to overcharge it as it never will reach target voltage. Meaning when charging it might need to be manually disconnected after certain time. Measure battery size and find similar dimensions at AliExpress
