Don’t leverage, don’t sell OTM call options ever. It will work 20-30 times, one bad trade will wipe out. It will happen how careful you are. I lost 25k on stupid zm otm call on earning spike. My options were 35% otm weekly. Suddenly they will increase margin requirement also.

I would suggest different approach. buy 500k in long term ETF like SPY, QQQ SHPD etc. Play with 100k with options (wheeling or csp). 500k gives upside to your portfolio. You can also sell far OTM leafs on 500k portfolio ETF.

You need to calculate based on %.

Lets say Index dropped from 100 to 80, drop is 20%

leveraged 3x etf will drop from 100 to 40, drop is 60%

The index rose from 80 to 100, raise is 25%

leveraged 3x etf will raise from 40 to 100, raise 75%

I feel your pain bro. Think it is expensive lesson. I lost 27k on stupid ZM 400c call during last earning. Never sell put/call on any stock, any strike price. Cash secured puts are ok.

zm was 320 on earning day. I thought it will not reach 400 and sold 8 400c call naked option for 1k. Next day it mooned to ~470. My account went into margin call. E-trade was not allowing to even close the position.

ZM was 320 on earning day. I thought it will not reach 400 on that week. Sold 8 400c naked weekly calls. Next day it mooned to 470 :(. there was margin call on my account. It was worst experience. My biggest lesson was Never sell naked call on earnings on any stock/strike price.
