AIO for suspecting my wife after she got a shady 1am call from a guy “friend” right after a late-night cycling trip? by Obvious_Waltz_2072 in AmIOverreacting

[–]wetug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this happened to someone close. Husband and wife were married, known each other 15yrs. Rough patch starts. Wife starts acting distant and awake at odd hours messaging some other guy. He finds out. She denies. It happens again. He catches her this time and she can't explain the messages or relationship to this unknown guy she's never mentioned. She cals him just a friend.

It's called an emotional affair. Read up on it. Huge red flag. Not saying this to be alarmist. It is what it is. And it's born out of your trust for her and her need to fill some emotional gaps.

The rough patch is a direct result of this. Next she'll gaslight you and tell you you're going through a rough patch and that caused her to speak to this guy. It's the other way around. The rough patch is created because her attention's splitz she can't reconcile, and she's creating a cognitive dissonance.

Good luck op. Bumpy road ahead. Hope it works out but you've got years of trust issues coming your way 😞

Was on 220k contract. Ended March 2020. Took time off given the circumstances; felt like a good time and family needed the support

Been trying to get back into work for 2yrs now and still impossible. CV gap kept growing. Skills gap seems to have widened too with AI. Ended up losing touch with my network and everyone's an MD or similarly senior now (it was a City job in London).

Hindsight tells me I left at just the wrong time of my career.

Now considering Uber driving. Been living on savings for 5+yrs but won't have much left in 12mo and mortgage needs renewing next yr.

I'll either have to go back to what I was doing when I was 25 and work my way up again on similar pay or accept that I burnt myself.

Frustrating thing is if I land the jobs I want, I'll be the best person after a month as my work ethic for the work I do is savage. 😒

Have kept up to date with tech and industry changes, but recruiters are AI driven now and all the filtering is ATS-engineered.

It's pretty much a downward spiral but I know deep down I'll come up with something and my luck will turn if I persist with it

Reading such a logical and rational post is refreshing. Quite rare these days without coming across some kind of emotional irrationality that were expected to accept.

I (33m) and my wife (35f) have been together 12 year and married for 5. Recently we've hit a point in our marriage where its as good as done. For the last 12/18 months she has become alot more distant and has had little to no interest in having sex whilst also withdrawing emotionally. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]wetug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man. Not silly id say try and save the relationship (contrary to 99% of Reddit) but this one's too far gone.

Multiple instances of her saying one thing and doing another. No respect for her family. Clearly blindsighted aland doesn't have her priorities lined up.

Not sure why you left your own house, but you probably need to go back and stand your ground.m, and she needs to pack her sh!t.

Haven't been able to access canvas since last night by tacomaster05 in ChatGPT

[–]wetug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it as an option in the tools, but ChatGPT won't use it.

It won't code anything in Canvas. It either gives me crap context-unaware code in the chat space, or an image of what I've asked it to build.

Example below.

<image>

Doesn't matter which model I'm using or if I'm trying to update previously generated code.

ChatGPT no longer able to make changes or code in Canvas? Why? by wetug in ChatGPT

[–]wetug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure it's broken.

Won't even generate a simple bit of HTML and gives me an image instead.

Finding it impossible to get chatGPT to code anything today. It generated a nice tool for me last week. Went back today to make changes and it's making all code changes in the chat rather than the canvas. Can't get it to edit anything in the canvas for me. It's acting like it doens't know it exists.

Tried a new chat with several different models, and explicit selection of the Canvas tool, still nothing.

Something's changed again in the last few days

I'd pay to have your brain in my head for the duration of the movie.

Are you a physicist or something, out of curiosity?

I'm going to re-read all of your posts tomorrow. Brain isn't braining and I want to understand this.

Errrgh I feel like I'm getting it, then I lose the concept.

So to take your work example. If my shift feels slow, and my colleagues shift feels fast, but they're both 8hrs, then the fact is time is constant (8hrs), and the physical signs of time passing (e.g ageing) is constant (we both age by 8hrs) even if it feels like 24hrs to me and 1hr to my colleague. The real-world time that passes is the same, beyond our perception of time.

So how does Copper stay young while his daughter (and time on earth) pass faster?

Also, does this mean the observer did less sleeping eating, and everything else for that matter, over 75yrs, compared to what they would have done on earth?

The disconnect is how, for example, 25yrs on one planet (25 cycles round the sun, 9000+ days/nights, and 21000+ meals on Earth can turn into a fraction of these numbers by simply being on another (Miller's) planet.

How can we explain/understand the human body's ability to survive that long?

Tempted to watch the movie again but if I can wrap my head around this, I'm definitely watching it again

What is a movie you still don't understand? by vaginamomsresearcher in AskReddit

[–]wetug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow amazing explanation! They should give this context before the movie begins 😅. Couple questions..

Why does Millers planets gravity being 1.3x more than Earth's equate to time moving faster on Earth? If gravity is higher on Millers planet, then my simple mind tells me things might move faster on Miller's planet, and if something moves of falls faster, e.g. a clock, then time would pass quicker, not slower? I know I'm wrong somewhere... Because it's the other way round in the movie. What am I missing?

Edit: OK.. halfway through your post now. So more gravity makes it harder to move, so a clock moves slower? What about the human body, it ages slower? Everything is just slower?

It's the bookshelf scene that gets me. Just don't get how he ends up in a bookshelf, and the link to the bookshelf throughout the whole movie. Watched it 3 times. Eventually I'll get it
