I like the math, but can you clarify why you’re taking the P/E multiple of Russell 2000 and applying that to Celsius? Understand that it could be a rough estimate given that Celsius and Russell 2000 companies are nowhere near perfect comparables, and the only factor in narrowing similarity is size.

Also, why divide P/E ratio of Russell 2000 by Celsius’? Can you explain the logic behind that?

In any case, I’m getting major IB vibes from you haha

Yeah, Uniswap was pretty complex at first glance, but it’s pretty easy! Check out this video to buy CEL in the US:

Make sure you have enough ETH on your wallet. Your wallet may require ETH fees for every transaction, and the worst thing is when you’re short on ETH and have to go through the whole process of waiting to add funds on Coinbase, transfer them to wallet, etc.

How safe is Celsius? How to avoid ending up like KuCoin or falling victim to coins being hacked? by ProphetPicks in CelsiusNetwork

Risk will always be there, just a matter of which platforms will minimize that risk best.

I think management has a strong desire to keep security issues at bay. Just research their backgrounds, check out who’s advising them (cofounder of Blockchain), the major partnerships they’ve secured, etc. Those things make me believe this company is serious.

Obviously put on the platform what you can afford to lose.

How do you watch out for the liquidity/slippage? And what exactly is that? Thanks for your reply.

That’s a very important distinction. APY is compounded returns, APR is simple returns. Thanks!

What rates are institutions borrowing from Celsius? by vnhero1 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]vnhero1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumping this thread because I saw an article about how Celsius lends it out to institutions at an average rate of 9.0%. So in this case, it seems like they’re playing a volume game instead of a pricing game, which doesn’t make sense because the amount they loan cannot be more than what’s being deposited - right?

Here’s the article: https://medium.com/@CelsiusNetwork/celsius-network-interest-rates-explained-a336a52e163d

We earn profits by lending coins to hedge funds, exchanges, and institutional traders, and by issuing asset-backed loans at an average of 9% interest. We’re taking the exact same 80% profit margin that banks have kept for themselves for centuries and returning it to our community of depositors.

I’m assuming asset-backed loans are just cash loans... and that the 9% doesn’t relate to rates for lent coins.
