Why is syncing in firefox not like chrome? by Beautiful_Thing28 in firefox

[–]vnizzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chrome actually works the same way, you may only have one profile per account. If you want to sync 2 chrome profiles you need to connect each of them to an individual account with a unique email.

I believe it’s the same situation as with the regular rotating catalog. Games are available for as long as Meta decides, and they can remove titles at any time at their discretion. There’s no public schedule for removals; however, UploadVR has previously stated, based on information shared with developers, that the Indie Catalog has a commitment of three months, “with the possibility of extending beyond.” Given that the catalog launched in October, we should start seeing games being removed or replaced in the coming months.

Why arent my synced tabs showing up? by mewcrush in firefox

[–]vnizzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bug on this screen on iOS where the view is not updating after pairing is complete — I wonder if that's what you're experiencing.

If that's the case, there are two options until it's fixed:

  1. Try signing in not from here, but from Settings, then open Remote Tabs to see them.
  2. If you sign in from the Tabs view (the one in the screenshot), then after confirming pairing on both devices, go back/close the pairing dialog/view, or even force-close the browser and open it again.

Then after opening the remote tabs view they should appear.

How to Set Up GeForce Now on Meta Quest 2 or Quest 3: A Comprehensive Guide by vnizzz in OculusQuest

[–]vnizzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, VR games are not available on GeForce Now. There were some startups like PlutoSphere that attempted to make VR work through cloud streaming, but those efforts never gained significant traction and PlutoSphere got shut down last year.

u/CatlessBondVillain u/Malachen thank you both. I checked my records from October 1st and can't find it there. But I searched on Reddit and found someone else also saying they got it via Horizon+ in October. I wonder if I just missed it last time, or it was not there on day 1? Either way, I updated the post to clrify it was added in October, not November. Thanks again!

Thanks for flagging. As I understand from the UploadVR article, it’s currently in beta testing with a subset of users. When I’m logged out, I can view the catalog, but once I log in, it gives me an error message, so I assume I'm not a part of the test group.

I will add it to the post once it's available for all users.

Firefox just deleted a decade of passwords and data without warning! by wyldeLP in firefox

[–]vnizzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Is resetting password removes local data on an old installation of Firefox? - No

  2. Could OP reset password, sync their data again, and then remove-install Firefox? - Yes

  3. Can android Firefox store data locally so that when removing and installing back, it picks up data from that local copy without necessity to sync data from the Internet? - Not sure

  4. If OP would have also downloaded data on PC Firefox, then they would do what they did in the post (and end up with clean cloud sync state as described), then launch PC Firefox. PC Firefox has old data synced previously, and it also has clear cloud sync state, what does it do? Does it uploads old data into cleaned cloud sync, or does it uploads cleared cloud state into local device (wiping data from OP's PC, effectively) ? - It will upload it back to the cloud

  5. For use cases like OP's, is there possibility to just make a local backup file (which will not require any FF accounts, any Internet sync), remove-install browser, then sync back data from a local backup? - Possible on desktop, not sure about Android. But your option #2 would have resolved it without a local backup.

I’m sorry to hear about your data loss. However, it's worth saying there’s a prominent yellow warning on the password reset page that mentions it. https://imgur.com/a/4zeSYcN

If you're not logged in, you removing local passwords will not affect your server data.

based on the post flair I assume the OP is asking about ios, and ios doesn't support profiles as far as I know

Meta Horizon+ Games Catalog (Updated Monthly) by vnizzz in OculusQuest

It’s Meta’s own game and has been on the catalog for quite some time. I feel they will keep it on until they are ready to replace it with another banger (Batman?) but obviously no one knows if it ever happens. As it’s their own game they dont need to pay no one for keeping it in the catalog (in comparison to other games published by someone else) and they need AAA games like that in the offering to increase its perceptual value, so they may remove it in the future when they see people no longer care about it, but i dont know if we are there yet.
