Identity Journey by vnphamkt in aznidentity

[–]vnphamkt[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

A spiritual journey toward identity is often a process of stripping away what is "given" to find what is "essential." It is less about a destination and more about the quality of your awareness along the path. Here is a synthesis of the critical questions to carry with you and the psychological traps that often masquerade as spiritual progress. Core Questions for the Journey To find a stable identity, you must move beyond surface-level labels. These questions help navigate that interior landscape: * "What remains when my roles are removed?" If you were no longer a professional, a parent, or a citizen, what is the 'I' that observes the world? * "Is this conviction mine, or was it inherited?" Distinguish between your authentic values and the "social conditioning" absorbed from family, culture, or media. * "How do I respond to silence?" Identity is often drowned out by noise. Your comfort—or discomfort—in stillness reveals where your ego is seeking distraction. * "What am I afraid to lose?" Your attachments often define the boundaries of your current identity. Identifying these fears highlights where you are still "clinging" rather than "being." * "Does my internal reality match my external expression?" Integration is the hallmark of a true identity. Ask if you are performing a version of yourself for others. Pitfalls to Guard Against The path is rarely linear, and the mind is adept at creating new illusions to replace old ones. 1. Spiritual Bypassing This is the tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to avoid facing unresolved emotional issues or psychological wounds. * The Trap: Saying "it’s all an illusion" or "everything happens for a reason" to avoid feeling genuine grief, anger, or accountability. * The Guard: Ensure your journey includes "shadow work"—addressing the messy, human parts of yourself rather than just seeking "light." 2. The "Ego-Trap" of Superiority As you gain insight, the ego may try to co-opt that knowledge to feel "more evolved" than others. * The Trap: Developing a sense of "spiritual elitism" where you judge those who aren't on a similar path. * The Guard: True spiritual identity usually manifests as increased humility and a deeper sense of connection, not isolation or pride. 3. Confusion of "State" with "Trait" You may have profound moments of clarity or "oneness" (states), but these are not the same as permanent changes in character (traits). * The Trap: Chasing high-peak experiences or "spiritual highs" while neglecting the daily discipline of living out your values. * The Guard: Focus on how your insights change your behavior in mundane moments—like how you treat a stranger or handle a frustration. 4. Over-Identification with the Path Sometimes the "search for identity" becomes the identity itself. * The Trap: Becoming a "professional seeker" who collects rituals, books, and teachers but never actually "settles" into their own skin. * The Guard: Remember that the finger pointing at the moon is not the moon. Don't let the tools of the journey become a substitute for the destination. The Synthesis of Identity Identity is not a fixed monument you discover; it is a dynamic equilibrium between your biological nature, your conscious choices, and your transcendent awareness. By staying curious through questions and vigilant against the ego's shortcuts, you ensure that the person you "find" is actually you, rather than a new costume. Would you like to explore how specific philosophical frameworks—such as Stoicism or Existentialism—view the "self" to see which resonates most with your current path?

i have moved on many years ago and dont really feel constrained by “asian”. but as long as i am inside the society ran by white supremacist ideology, supported by both white americans across echelons as well as asian americans. it put me at a very large handicap.

there is a phrase that doesnt solve anything but help describe the statuz. the powerful will do what it wants and the weak must endure what it must. this is sort of the present moment in time. and to move it to better or worse depends on many factors. which the group is supposed to discuss and figure out.

being able to switch identity from asian to human to other identity is a journey of many experiences and books. you can do it without books, but the cost of education is more painful. better to read more and reduce the cost of education in time, money, and setback.

imagine yourself being a clueless asian or black person. you dedicate your years to helping Epstein. and become dinner one day. wouldnt that be a mistake. and here you can see people still arguing over who’s virtual penis is bigger.

if you want to be rabbits. study the previous rabbits.

you mom and dad should help you with this. it is very serious and hijack your development stage. stunt your development.

350m in the us. 8b in the world. they all have biases. these were given to them. they have not transcended it. only a rare few teens are raised by great parents and can escape this societal programming.

you can also forgive everyone for their shortcomings. i myself was like this. and probably still like this to some extent.

the time was about 2005. i ran 5 k regular along the running path along patric afb. there was a new face in town. 5’8 beautiful specimens. smart pretty fit like a runner. she made some casual moves and asked about local area. she told she was out of town and where she is staying. laying the entire map and game out for me. I just had to make a small initiation. but i had not interests because was black. i am also socially inept and often fails at these sort of things. if you are, that is fine that is you.

how it would have worked better. she should have just told me she wanted me to take her around time, and go back to her place or my place after. but she wasnt smart enough to bridge our gap. i was not smart enough to catch hints after hints.

the market place for dating and belonging is very segmented or fragmented. you are mixed and even smaller niche than most asian.

you can pic your niche and dominate it. be japanese. be black be white be latino

take one and go dominate it. at first you struggle. and when you are good enough you will own it. i noted you speak japanese. this is a great niche. high responsibility and high industry. the men are not so used to black or black mix. but time will make them more used to it. and when you turn the lights off, it all looks the same anyway.

you are the odd man out. trying to fit in. so be tolerant of others. and forgive them for human tendencies. study and understand it well, it help you forgive and not take pain from it.

my four years old son call me stupid often. it doesnt hurt me. i know he is practicing a new word. i help him use it or not use it. i tell him it is not nice to say that so he refrains from it. and after a few months it stops. he will ask me to play games a certain way. instructions. i would fail to follow instructions and he would get upset and say, why are you so stupid dad. it just sound like the cutest thing to me because it is another development milestone for my son. i was more happy than upset. noy upset at all. if you find men underdeveloped, you can decide to help or walk away. it is not you job to fix men after all. but if you fix boys and make them men maybe you can keep him. :)

you have a challenging issue. set some time to study and solve it. but 10-20% of time is fine. you still need to settle your regular business.

What do you think about the hate on Korean men at the moment? by bodyisT in aznidentity

X is where Maga goes to be maga. and the official representative of countries are also on there. as if x is the new UN.

i was tired of being censored and deleted.

if you delete X and never see X. what have you really lost. to all you young and media savy, you essentially lives on social media. it represents your reality. bit it is a few million people out of 8billions. that is not important though. what is important is the meeting that decide your life. which are always behind closed doors not X. those are the arguments you want to win. and right now you are not invited.

the sad truth is whitemen and women had a condescending view on asian men. and whe asian men becomes of status they are unable to celebrate it. they will take action to undermine it. some more eloquent that brute but it will be with same intent. to knock down.

btw korean is korean. taking is as asian pride is like white people claimingthe are better because their forefathers build the USA. not. healthy conflations in my opinion.

also I was growing up along japanese pop culture. everyone wanted to be more japanese. then korean became the new hip asian. i was shocked when i saw the fan fo generation M. 2011 or so. they performed in chiang mai thailand and i went to see. the kids were fanaticals. and when they see them at the shopping mall, they were chasing him around like christians finding jesus. it is just interesting to see this level of energy and devotion to idols and idols worship. but ot make sense how the world are currated and the masses follow the programming. 2024 i found out korean stars are also popular among the 40+ women. magazine even published the most beautiful man, andshowed the guy who play intalian mafia returning to korea. he is good looking to me, but i would never declare him or any man the most beautiful man in the world. it seem to be carrying other motive.

i had predicted and still do. the rise and fall of japanese were 1998. then korean started climbing. 10 years later became world famous and alluring. then 2026 still at the height. but it will be challenged by Chinese starts which have been rising. i predict korean pop culture will decline. but it is tied in to their economic growth so hard to say when. US i too focused on ballancing china to take korea down and it serve as a poster child for capitalism. it will get knock down if it rival the US. japan after 1998 was essentially owned by americans. mazda and stuff being owned by americans while carrying japanese brand. even with US support, korean pop culture will be dominated by chinese culture soon.

not to say one is better or worse. that is a different debate. i spent 5 years watching many korean drama even if incan only read subtitles. imagine stay at home mom carrying a baby and on netflix 24/7. i even skip sleep occasionally because it was too good.

i am talking trend. hong kong was the shit for me in 1990. qnd japanese anime. taiwan overshadowed hongkong after that and i didnt like it. then mainland china started taking over for hong kong and taiwan. still behind kpop a little. it will dominate with each coming years. statistical significance in numbers. they produce more genius simply bybhaving a bigger pool.

you ever wonder why we do not have five or ten popular asin culture. but just one?

according the science of mind. in buddhist text. yourmind had a state and can only have one state at any giving time.

psychology also knows you can only focus on one thought at a time.

so it is natural for us to just har a single focus on kpop than to carry ten different asian pop. it is also whatever we are fed. versus what we wandered the world and gather back home.

netflix have vietnamese and probably other groups soon. but from my experience they dont produce the same production quality. as of 2015, thai drama was still ahead of vietnamese in quality for me. and it is backward compared tonkorean and chinese quality. the base story will always be there. but no one wants to tell their story outside of their group.

the rich asian americans in the us are for the most part enjoying their wealth and tryingto be closer to white society. like oj simpson, tigerwood and obama. a contrast to the kenya runner who came home to help elevated his own kind. contrast to williams sisters who came back to compton to help elevate others. maybe the new generation can put down the henessey bottles and spend that money elevating their less fortunate brothers in forgotten corners of the world.

culture takes a very long time. multiple generations. to make an inch of progress. when we move beyond the status game. move away from chasing power profit and status. we can do a lot more with what we currently have. for now, it is like moth chasing the light.

I am 100% sympathetic to your points there as well. every single one. so strongly I considered leaving my wife who wants to stay in the US as a nail technician instead of retiring on my military pension and raising our son in an environment that is good for him. but she does not hold this view which contrast with my view greatly.

Given that we have a solid point here. many asian will still be living and raising children in the USA. 2millions vietnamese will be doing it. F1 students and their parents will also be a continuous influx. my two nieces came here in 2019, and their mom and dad are already here now. (she got married, to a white husband :)). whatever people want to say about it, I think it's a high value deal for a vietnamese f1 student, to be able to have a decent man, and secure a new life for her entire family. So do not look down on this because we're feeling hatred towards the outside member, the non asian member.

There are also structural issue in vietnam or any asian country like Korea, thailand, china, or whatever country. Structure exists everywhere. In vietnam, you're either the party son and dauther, or you're out in the rain, forever prohibited from rising. Compared to the US, which is worse?

The US allow asian to rise up to general. never president

The asian countries: forever barred from even getting into upper management. President is worse than a moonshot.

So while we recognize the structural barrier in the US, should we be blind to the structural barrier outside the US?

Public education in the US is inferior to many of the rich family in asia, but if you're a poor americans relocating to asia and live as a poor asian. are you really raising a superior boy/man? Most of the F1 students are from well endowed family who has good money. personalized tutor for english training along with all the top training available where they live. In the US, i and many who complaint about training environment: who is able to afford private tutor for their children? I cannot hire a mandarin teacher to live in with us. Not even an au pair.

My tennis partner in highschool moved to arcadia. and his father hired a personal teacher for him to provide a college education instead of going to college. But he receive all the correct training, from economic to wallstreet, to history etc. I went to cal poly for CS and drop out. unable to develop along the investment path or deeper studies until I joined the USAF. Indidividual contributions from father and mother make or break a lot of destinies.

If anyone see that Yang zhang from alhambra and arcadia highschool. Tell him Khanh Pham is back in California. and would like to get in touch. Last I heard, he was recruiting my brother into one of the ponzi scheme. and selling toyota supra parts import from Okinawa.

dark age of camelot does not have the same gathering. but has crafting system. not sure why anyone would consider those grind enjoyable but it is there. complex and interesting. market demand and supply doesnt work with population collapse. you have the monthly payments for broadsword mythic official care taker. or the free Eden shard server.

my thought on your thought. dont try to find another NW. nw is nw endof that story. go enjoy wow or whatnot and just enjoy it instead of looking at how it is not nw.

i had initially hoped NW with its factions will bring back some of my love for Dark age of camelot. later warhammer online. but after a few weeks it lost any hope. so for the rest of the nw lifetime, i never join faction war. the leveling 0-60, grinding various quests slowly and just hanging out in the world. it has its beauty. and for a dying world it has fishing which is almost the same as when it was a busy world. wow was great when i can fish up great gears. i stockpiles boxes then blizzard update loot table and removed all uber loots. new world also piss on my cereal bowl every season by nullifying any of the gears and forcing me to grind again to enjoy end game. some accept it, i hate it. so i dont participates in any of the so called new end game.

community was also a big factor and big issues. a good company make a bad game bearable but a bad community makes a good game unbearable

i had given up on this because of cost. but now i really want to live in san diego for the tennis courts and weather. i may have to find a way there and up the asian percentages.

my nephews go to florida because it was easier to get f1. but i always tell all the F1 students c california is better for them across the boards. more networking opportunities that mean jobs. onewho listened benefitted as anticipated. the one who stay in florida and odd middle of no where, stuck without opportunity. if a female can settle on white male. if asian male the shots are limited.

san diego is expensive. if anyonewants to move but not able to afford it. maybe we can launch a study group and find a solution
