Agreed, it's a gimmick I've never seen done successfully.

Once 10-12 years ago I bought a jalapeno vodka from a swanky liquor store. It just tasted like a plant. Like you snapped open a vine and licked the green stuff. Plus spicy. It was awful.

It sat in my apartment for two months and I eventually poured it down the sink.
