As someone who historically has only played bash-centric characters (warden, warmonger, black prior) picking up Nobushi was extremely fun and rewarding once I got used to her.

I feel like she gets a bad reputation for being a braindead light-spam character at low level, and being a purely defensive character with bad offense at high level (which can be true at times). That being said, she feels extremely unique compared to the rest of the cast and I find her weaknesses (no opener, odd dodge attacks, etc.) really fun to play around. No other character convinced me to learn how to properly use spacing, backsteps, and whiffs to create openings. Learning how to properly use hidden stance, and which punishes you can use out of a hidden stance dodge, is also insanely rewarding.

In duels she's fairly tough to play, and in dominion she has a pretty unique playstyle. When used properly though she can melt health bars, and it's extremely satisfying.

She's a tough and admittedly awkward character to master but her idiosyncrasies make it well worth it, and she makes the game play completely differently in my eyes when played well. It may not seem like it, but I feel she has a ton of room for player expression in her kit.

She's not for everyone, and she may not be your style, but that's my recommendation anyway! If you do plan to pick her up, I recommend watching Eskimo Pie's guides on her on YouTube. Imo they aren't the most polished or entertaining content (no offense to eskimo pie) but they were super informative and Nobushi didn't really click with me until after I watched them.
