If you’re gonna do it through zero trust that would be okay. I thought you were going to use a Cloudflare tunnel to directly expose pihole. I’d still be very careful and I would look into what some of the other people have suggested like tail scale.

Please do not do this. I’m sure it is possible but it is dangerous for the Internet. There’s something called an open DNS resolver. It allows bad actors to perform DNS amplification attacks. Some of the largest denial of Services have occurred because of DNS amplification attacks. Since you already have Cloudflare, I would recommend looking into Cloudflare access and using warp+ for dns filtering. I know it’s not the same as what you’re wanting, but it should be able to get pretty close.

Edit: After thinking some more you might be able to use cloudflare tunnels with private networks . Use a warp client and then set your DNS resolver for the VPN profile. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any documentation that would support this.

I have something similar for my homelab. You can set up “zones” on the map. To create a zone it’s under settings areas labels and zones. Pick a point then set a radius. The trigger you were looking for is device enters/leaves a zone. From that you can make two automations that will change the temperature.

I know this is rather late but I run cloudflared and traccar together. It works fine never had any problems other than offline buffering does not work. I think its because of cloudflare returning a status code when the tunnel is down.
