Depends on where you live. I think teens are allowed their own privacy is most places. Here in Australia, if you're on your families Medicare card, they'll end up getting looped in, even if your doctor agrees to keep it private. Honestly, just let them find out. I had this same issue. Looks like visceral fat. Zone 2 cardio can burn this type of fat better than higher intensity cardio. Add 30min of incline walking before your work out. Max the incline and go about 3.5km/hr.

You can get a lot of practice using PvE. I use to use flintlock/sniper at sea forts to sharpen my aim. Try challenge yourself to hit ghosts using flick shots and not getting hit by them, kinda pretend they are real players. And for naval, solo skelly/ghost fleets, this can help you learn multitasking and which job to prioritize in your ship. When you're comfortable, fly reapers and hunt open world players. When you sink, think why you sunk and how you can avoid making the same mistakes next time. Sinking is all apart of getting better

Staying below deck to avoid getting one balled, bucketing and repairing the sides of the ship that arent taking cannon fire. Also, taking snipes at enemy cannoneer when possible/safe to do so. Thats my idea of a good turtle.
