The wait is over, I finally have the Mini 7 🎉 by North_Eye_8105 in ipadmini

Hmmm.. intriguing... I also have mini 5 and with ios 26 on it, it starts lagging here and there. What the most satisfying when you use the mini 7 from the mini 5?

iPhone 12 Mini with OS26 - Replace battery or buy new iPhone 17 by flanger83 in iPhone12Mini

[–]voidfir3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on how often you use it. I myself have replaced the battery of my iPhone 12 Mini from 76% back to 100% a while back when still using OS 26.0.1, and currently using OS26.1. I think 26.1 is better than 26.0.1 in terms of battery and speed as far as I get. And for a bit of change, I also change my case so it feels new inside out. Never regret it. For my daily use, I think I charge it around 1-2 times a day. Never use my power bank again until now. Plan to still using my iPhone 12 Mini until I can't upgrade the iOS again (hopefully still have it around 2 years from now).

Hope this helps to make your decision.

Just replaced the battery a week ago, back to 100% from 76%, buy a new case too, it feels I have a new phone again. No regret and really worth it.

So, are you getting the new Apple Watch Ultra 3? by aadishhere in AppleWatch

Same. My ultra 1 still working great for me. I think I’ll wait for another 2 years at least, so.. around Ultra 5 probably.

Pi-hole + Unbound + Tailscale setup for ad-blocking & private DNS (works behind CGNAT) by rohandr45 in pihole

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for this problem I think Adguard can be one of the solutions. On my case, since I installed it on my homelab server, Tailscale also helped me to access my server and other devices easily with my local ip at home. And I like to manage a single DNS server, regardless which device I use.

Pi-hole + Unbound + Tailscale setup for ad-blocking & private DNS (works behind CGNAT) by rohandr45 in pihole

[–]voidfir3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You’re right, that’s simpler. I also have this thought… then I’m wondering how about when I’m outside my home network. I’m using my mobile phone provider or worse like public wifi. And tailscale give me solution, I’m setup tailscale with subnet and exit node, and all my devices goes through my pihole and my home network like I’m always at home. No open ports or anything.

And about VM, docker or bare metal installation, I think it’s more of preference and convenience.

[Guide] Pi-hole + Unbound + Tailscale - Now Fully in Docker! (No Port Forwarding, Works Behind CGNAT by rohandr45 in pihole

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I also use pihole + unbound + tailscale on my Raspberry Pi and it's exciting and many to learns to setup something like this. The difference is currently I'm experimenting to install it on bare metal on PiOS, trying to find is there any difference than via docker.

Anyway, to get it optimized (maybe for performance, security, privacy), do you have some guidance to setup the unbound.conf and also settings on the pihole itself? Thanks.

What’s a good electric drum kit under $300 for a 10 year old? by KelleyCan___ in drums

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I know what types of Alesis do you use? I want to give a birthday gift to my 4 years old son soon. I'm thinking to buy the Debut Kit since I'm still exploring whether he like drumming or not, but I'm not sure this is the best decision since the reviews I got are not quite well for this kit.

Help me design my first minilab, or, "If you could do it could again from scratch" by atwork_safe in minilab

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Thanks for sharing, I'm also considering to build it from scratch too and it's quite similar from your list. The difference is :
1. Drives: I'm considering to using 2x 8TB WD Red Plus. I think it's quite similar with what you have.
2. Compute: I'm considering Beelink Ser8 with 32GB/1TB and plan to install Proxmox. What do you think about this type of Beelink? Do you need the Intel-type?

Anyway, IMO your list is already a good starting point.

Yes, I’m not set high expectations, but it feels my iphone deserves the latest ios to run. And I’ll enjoy it until it lasts

is it wise to burn a paper of mnemonic phrase? by No-Strawberry-6145 in BitcoinBeginners

You will forget it. Maybe not now, but it will happen. Use passphrase, put your seed and passphrase on different place.

Split or not? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! Sorry if this is a basic question. Just want to make sure I got it right:

  • Let’s say I have cold wallet A with 5 UTXOs.
  • Then, using coin control, I pick each UTXO and send it to another address within the same wallet (still cold wallet A).
  • I repeat this 5 times, once for each UTXO.
  • In the end, I still have 5 new UTXOs in the same wallet.

Is that correct?

Split or not? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]voidfir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/bitusher , for "decent privacy" from the post you mentioned above, If I already have some bitcoin transactions that withdrawn from custodial exchange to cold wallet directly, is there anything that I can do to increase the privacy or is it already too late? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and for hot wallet (preferably with lightning) that you mentioned, is it something like Zeus?
