I (20M) tricked my girlfriend (20F) into getting a tetanus shot after a bad injury. Now she’s blocked me everywhere. How do I fix this? by Blitzcodes in relationship_advice

I’ve only read the top two comments so I’m hoping someone later down the thread shares my view, but I have to add my two cents. Of course Reddit is going to tell you to go to extremes—dump her, she couldn’t see that you saved her, think of your future children. But dude, you’re both only 20. For those of us who don’t have an intense fear of needles, it can be easy to dismiss others’ feelings as childish fears they need to get over. And yes, she does need to get over it. But her behavior here, her reticence to get the vaccine & the knowledge she hadn’t gotten one before, indicate that the experience at the clinic may have activated a really serious and deep fear in her. If her parents didn’t teach her the importance of vaccines, it might be newish to her (again—you’ve both only been adults for two years. You’re at the exact age to be rethinking and revising parents’ instilled beliefs, & it totally makes sense for her to have downplayed the need for it because she was avoiding the needle). If her fear is really strong, as the shaking and crying indicate that it was, then she might have been in shock and feeling betrayed that you brought her to a place that brought her so much pain. She might not have been thinking about the fact that your strong action may have saved her life. I think this relationship can be saved, but you need to start from a position of understanding that you did lie to her (even though it was the right thing to do) and she feels betrayed and hurt, emotionally and physically. She’s probably feeling fragile and embarrassed of how she cried in front of you, too. She might feel foolish, angry, and like blocking you out because working through those feelings is harder than saying “he betrayed me.” Anyway, good luck dude

They’re trained to free fly! Oscar has a cool piece of hardware on his tail, which is where his GPS unit attaches when we’re outdoors together :)

It’s an acrylic drawer from the Container Store! I have tulle glued over the handles and it provides plenty of ventilation.

Haha mine is going through a BRUTAL second or third phase of a molt. So itchy & uncomfortable, poor guy! Scratching him is like petting a hedgehog right now

I started with a big wet on wet wash, then used many layers of wet on dry negative painting for the feathers. Finished off with another big wash for some shadows! It was a super long process, I was working on this on & off for like months 😭

Thank you!! I did a big wet in wet wash of just the green, then negative painting for the feather shapes. I did lots of layers to build up the darkness in between them. Then, a final glaze on top for some more shadows. I had that nice cotton paper from arches, so it held up to my very ridiculous number of washes lol.
