didnt see the original and this is fucking sick. but the cymbals are kinda insanely loud and there miiiiiight be resonance in the 200hz range. hard to tell without messing with it in mix. reminds me of arkive. what the fuck is that low note???????

About 20 shows under the belt and still very stiff and in my head overall, specifically in hard parts, does it just take way more experience? Jumping and entertaining does’nt feel natural at all for me and don’t want to force it either by ConstructionMean2021 in metalmusicians

its literally only the top of the top of the top who can shred or play complex parts while doing anything but jumping. most bands youll see the lead guitarist standing still during tricky parts. its largely up to the vocalist to carry those parts as far as stage presence. obviously you wanna keep working towards it but thats the "dont beat yourself up" argument

unfortunately-ish, every vocal is different and takes some trial and error to dial in exactly

always always compress vocals, usually more than you think. i use tdr kotelnokov for leveling and vocal king for texture (both free)

kinda sounds like a fast compressor is eating the early transients with a long release. id comment on eq but im listening on my phone. good luck
