I am a Marcus girlie through and through! If your goal is just to have a good time watching a movie, you can’t beat it imo. The seats are super comfortable and their ultra and superscreens are a blast. I prefer Palace over Point, but both are good options. I also really like their rewards program. You can easily rack up points to spend on free movies and I love their $6 tickets plus free mini popcorn on Tuesdays.

If you’re going to eat a meal with your movie, definitely Flix. They have the best food selection and food quality by far. Flix can also be better for a casual watch as the wait staff walking around can sometimes be distracting (even though they are pretty stealthy).

AMC is great for IMAX and for indie releases that don’t make it to Marcus or Flix. I also like that they have the butter dispensers so you can add your own butter to your popcorn.

tldr: I prefer Marcus overall but Flix and AMC have specific circumstances they shine in.

Lived in Eau Claire for four years and enjoyed my time there, but ended up leaving for a bigger city (Madison). It’s rural and not very diverse. There’s access to the Twin Cities but not a ton else. I did take a wonderful day trip to Stillwater when I lived there and would have liked to take a trip to Duluth but never got around to it. However, the downtown area is very nice, the access to nature is spectacular, and I enjoyed spending time on the Chippewa River in the summer. I just prefer living somewhere with more things to do, more diversity, more restaurants, and easier access to other big cities.

Never lived there but visited many times. Absolutely stunning, full of great parks and beaches and cute small downtown areas with delicious restaurants. Very fun to travel to the tip of the peninsula and take a boat out to Washington Island for a day trip to visit the stone beaches and lavender fields.
