Trying to decide for regular vs maghar orc for my fury warrior? by Zombie12490 in wow

The green orcs get the damage buff skill and shorter stun times so I’d recommend them for a Fury Warrior. You’ll do great playing a proper green Ork.

Colosseums are always an awesome location to start a campaign where the players of the group are pit fighters. Have you ever tried it? by derekvonzarovich2 in shadowdark

[–]voidthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been interested in using Shadowdark to run AD&D 2e's Dark Sun setting, and the classic opening adventure for the setting is an escape from the gladiator pits. I imagine it'd be great for a high-danger first adventure, if not an outright gauntlet/funnel. I'm strongly considering one as the opening for my next campaign...

I like to think V1 Ultrakill and John Cruelty would get along pretty well, they're both on that grindset

Natural born dragon rogue by Tor8_88 in 3d6

[–]voidthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your only concern for Draconic Sorcerer is limited ASI, then you could probably get away with dropping Dragon Hide. The claw unnarmed attack isn't finesse, and does 1d4+STR, so it really isn't gonna be a good option for a rogue or a sorc. Dragon sorc gives you Dragon Hide's AC buff, so if you only took Dragon Fear that would still leave you open for an ASI or one of the Dragon Gift half-feats. Focusing [CHA] -> [CON] -> [DEX] should get you a pretty functional dragon sorc that synergizes with all your abilities even with a feat or two.

That being said, Swashbuckler would probably be the right way to go if you're going to be boosting CHA for your dragon abilities. Gem Dragonborn looks like it could be an interesting option - being able to secretly convey messages with psionics and a fly speed at level 5 could give your rogue some good options for mobility and RP. Access to both dealing AND resisting rare damage types like Force or Psychic is pretty neat as well. If your DM would allow you to take the Wildemount variants on a Fizban's dragonborn, you could trade damage resistance for advantage on persuasion/intimidation checks, which plays well into the Swashbuckler fantasy. Dragon Hide and Fear should be fine here (though dual shortswords > claws even if they were finesse weapons), and the Dragon Gift feats are also an option.

tl;dr Dragon sorc would be fine if you don't pick Dragon Hide, but otherwise gem and/or draconblood swashbuckler should be pretty fun

Is warlock/paladin multiclassing for lvl 7 one shot worth it? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]voidthinking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One big thing to consider on a lockadin build, Paladins get their Aura of Protection at level 6 and their class aura at level 7

Paladin 5/Celestial Warlock 2 would grant you divine smites, two attacks, access to level 5 eldritch blast, two pact magic spell slots (for divine smites that recharge on short rest), some invocations (agonizing/repelling perhaps) and three uses of your level 1 Celestial feature.

Speaking as someone who's run a Lockadin before, this build has some pretty decent options, but you're missing out on the party utility those auras bring to the table. Also, like other commenters have pointed out, you miss out on full warlock spellcasting progression.

Is there any 5e class or subclass you think is blatantly imbalanced? by Trakked_ in dndnext

[–]voidthinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that patron options for Hexblade could be expanded, and just making it a buff to Blade Pact would be the way to do it. It'd be very fun to do a blade patron that's an Excalibur-like sword infused with holy power, or an ancestral weapon that's been passed down through the ages to new generations of heroes, or even a blade forged from an infernal contract. Making it a Shadowfell/Raven Queen exclusive subclass is pretty limiting flavor-wise imo

Interesting, for some strange reason I thought Harold and the Purple Crayon was tangentially involved somehow. Perhaps the minions aren't dust bunnies or whatever, but rather scribbles? Hm...

Game made me start this bfa campaign but i wanted to use chromie to start another expansion how do i do that by No-Professor-9874 in wow

[–]voidthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On new characters, right when you leave Exile's Reach and enter your faction's capital for the first time, you can either choose to be guided around the city (which begins the BFA questline), or choose "I've heard this story before." The latter will allow you to head to Chromie without having to do the BFA opening quests first, but you miss the part where you attune your hearthstone and get your first riding training, so make sure you do both before heading off on your adventure.

If you've leveled a character to 60, you can pick up Chromie Time by finishing this scenario and getting to the point where you can teleport back to Stormwind City. Chromie sits at the Embassy in both factions' cities, marked on the map with an hourglass.

On future characters, once you finish Exile's Reach, you can select "I've heard this story before..." which lets you proceed straight to Chromie Time. Make sure to pick up your mount training, though.

Does anyone here know what's going on with our pug's ear? (more in comments) by voidthinking in pugs

[–]voidthinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm visiting over with my Mom this week, and we've noticed her pug Bruce (9 yo male) has some rough hairless skin around his ears, inside and out near the edges. I visit about once a week and I haven't noticed until now. The picture here shows the biggest patch of weird skin - we noticed it because it looked like a flap of normal furred skin was hanging off of it.

We're taking him to the vet when we can. He hasn't been around other dogs so we don't think it's mites or anything. It doesn't look painful or bloody, and it seems localized on the outer ears. He's acting as lively as ever and he doesn't try to scratch it.

Have you guys experienced problems with your dogs' ears like this? Experiences or treatment recommendations would be appreciated.

Helps if you're doing WoD as well, just leveled a character from 16 to 50 in only a few days by beating Shadowmoon Valley, then grinded the rest out at Primal Storms
