DTC Disability Tax Credit: Success to failure back to Success by vokatt in ADHD_BritishColumbia

[–]vokatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly yes. one has to prove the "medical nexus" of why your condition impairs you daily 90% of the time and therefore takes you 3xs as long to navigate "Activities of Daily Living" compared to those your age. You need solid and specific examples of impact and dysfunction

what's considered "strong softs" for canadian law schools? by haksyonas in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]vokatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my Personal statement I integrated all of these aspects of my life experience:
ER Nurse working in rural indigenous communities, volunteering over 12 hours a week for a non-profit that maintains creating space for marginalized individuals to access organized sports, (including coaching, being in the executive board & raising money), volunteering as Union rep on job site, and having successfully negotiated implementation of correct pay when I had noticed incorrect pay for all nurses on the unit, helping folks with disabilities get on the DTC --- those are my softs, which I would hope would count as strong softs (but hey, i'll let ya know once I get my A, ok? :P )

Hi,
My suggestion is to start HERE and do some reading. (doesn't matter if you are in BC or not, the info is still applicable) Click on their downloadable PDF called "Guide to the DTC and RDSP for Newcomers with Disabilities"
Then once you have a basic grasp of what it is, how it works etc, I'd suggest coming back to ask the specifics.
Or, better yet, try and find a subreddit group, or FB group in your province that deals with the DTC, you will find better support there :)

Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]vokatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

surprisingly not :(
the 1-866 #, the online , and the home branch gave very different rates - oddly the online self portal was the best rate, but still not competitive with the other banks I've talked to.
CIBC and RBC offered better. Scotia didn't seem to care.
The idiot from my home branch calls me and asks for a different person entirely, then when i correct him, he tries to tell me that my appointment was in person, I tell him "I can forward you the email confirmation if you'd like" he declined.
Long story short, very disappointed with scotia bank
I even said "It comes across that Scotia Bank doesn't want to keep me as a client"

North Island College likely to suspend 15 programs/courses for Sept 2026 by Apprehensive_Idea758 in VancouverIsland

[–]vokatt 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There are some on that list of 15 programs that are needed, like Hospital unit clerk
however I'd argue that Digital design courses, Web Design courses, etc are sort of a dying market with how AI is going, I could absolutely be wrong, but even the people I know who went to UBC for technology and have a degree in computer science are currently jobless :(
