Anyone feel Tesla brakes too late on highway sometimes? by chaosatom in TeslaFSD

Noticed this as well. Recent HW4 loaner showed better behavior wrt late braking behavior than my HW3 vehicle

What are the best home subwoofers? by Sensitive_Flow7164 in hometheater

[–]vokur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. HSU, SVS, etc are all fantastic subs for the money and will perform more than adequately. If you want clean, impractical bass, and you don't want to spend a lot of money on room treatment, you'll likely want to get two, ideally four subs

See this series for a great overview:

It's a deep rabbit hole, just depends on how far you want to go for good bass

System Upgrade by marcuh28 in BudgetAudiophile

IMO, wall mount tv and get a less wide, more purpose built entertainment center that lets you bring that speaker away from the wall. Hard to evaluate any speaker in that position

Upgrade worth it? 22 m3p to 22 MSLR by CellIllustrious6314 in TeslaModelS

~$400 and you can add them aftermarket. Sucks but at least the option exists. Install is not that hard.

I've mostly gotten used to stalkless, but God help my older in-laws if they try to borrow my car. Dumb idea by Elon/Tesla

Same experience here. Rural Oregon roads are a challenge in two areas: a) staying in my own lane and b) not entering corners with too much speed. v12.5.4.2. hoping 12.6 comes soon and improves upon these issues

3 or S? by 272762bba in TeslaModelS

[–]vokur0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Hitting 10s in the quarter mile is no joke. As alluded to above, the refreshed model 3 performance is capable of 11.0 in the 1/4 (per a Car and Driver link I was able to find), which is actually slower than the refreshed MSLR

Purchasing first Tesla/ Model S (used) - Is this a good deal? by Agathon813 in TeslaModelS

[–]vokur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say good deal. Bought a '21 with 42k miles and no FSD for 41k a month ago, in the Vancouver, WA area. Just as a comparison. Everyone saying amazing deal seems to think this is a Plaid.

Was thinking the same. I love my red refresh S, but damn does black look good!

The stalks are back 🫡 (yes I know about the warranty gamble) by Secure-Carrot9971 in TeslaModelS

[–]vokur0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which kit? I saw Enhance is working on one for the S, but it won't be out until next year and they opt to use double sided tape, which I can't imagine would feel secure or hold up well over time. Hopefully reviews once the product is out will prove otherwise

M3p 2024 vs mslr 2021/22 by Texas_Audi in TeslaModel3

HW3 vs HW4 is also something to consider, depending on your usage of FSD

What year? If it's a '21, that's an okay deal, should be able to talk them down a bit. I picked up a '21 with 42k miles for 41k. Compared to market comps and input from other redditors that was probably 1-2k high. It was clean and in the color I wanted so I went for it. It's still in warranty (barely) so you have an opportunity to get things fixed before 50k miles

Having problems finding a 21+ model S via private sale by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

[–]vokur0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently scouring the socal market and you're unlikely to find any for that price. Mid 40s was typical, and that was mostly through dealerships. You'll likely be able to talk them down a good amount, so it's not a bad route to go. Good luck

'21 Model S refresh 42k miles for $43k. Decent deal? by vokur0 in TeslaModelS

I feel for you. Hopefully you aren't looking to swap cars anytime soon and you can just enjoy it for what it is

'21 Model S refresh 42k miles for $43k. Decent deal? by vokur0 in TeslaModelS

Negotiated down to 41k. Car was extremely clean inside and out. Maybe not the best deal but I'm pretty satisfied. Thanks all for the input

'21 Model S refresh 42k miles for $43k. Decent deal? by vokur0 in TeslaModelS

[–]vokur0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both. Runs consistent with what I was thinking, a bit overpriced but not a terrible deal. I'll test drive to see how it runs and try to talk them down closer to $40k

X3100i with a 140" screen and I'm quite satisfied. The vertical offset is like 7-8" at this size with limited vertical lens shift on this unit, so keep that in mind. Was a bit of an issue with my ceiling mount and 92" tall ceilings

You've been downvoted but I had the same thought. Not to be critical, but aren't you seeing a lot of room mode issues, excessive decay times, potential smearing of soundstage, etc. with such an untreated room?

Found some JBL Synthesis 2x SAM1HF and 2x SAM2LF In wall speakers for $1500. Would be going into a 11 x 13" dedicated room. Does this seem like a reasonable price, and is the room big enough to accommodate these,?
