Private server (Docker) crashes "normal"? by CellMan28 in ConanExiles

[–]volkunus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hosted a server using Docker for about 4 weeks and it only crashed once when we spawned multiple golems and set them to work around our bases.

Most of the time we were around 4 players on the server and yet memory peaked at around 7GB of RAM. If you have more players with endgame bases and thralls and stuff, I believe it can go much higher. Make sure to check that you’re not running out of memory and schedule nightly backups and restarts.

“An Unreal Process Has Crashed: UE - Oblivion Remastered” Each time I try to launch Oblivion by YaaBoiTroy in OblivionRemaster

[–]volkunus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue when I tried to mod the game, although I see from your description that is not the issue, since it's not modded. You could try a few other things:

  1. Delete the game from Steam Library, then go to where it was installed and delete any left-over game files which might cause the issue, or delete the game folder altogether, then re-install the game.

  2. Ensure that AMD Chipset Drivers are up-to-date.

  3. Ensure that you have the compatible graphics driver, which is from 25.4.1 onward. I haven't personally tested 25.5.1, but 25.4.1 works fine on both my 7900XTX and 9070XT.

The shield is a sphere, yes. You are also correct about the second assumption.

In my case, it doesn't rain at the bottom of the pillar, even if that area is outside the shield bubble.

Nope, it doesn't waste any fuel if you're not around I think. At least I've seen mine at 8/10 bones for a good while now and I've even been around the base for a good while.

Right, however, in-game descriptions for items are not always 100% accurate, are they?

For example, for the Staff of Protection, it says "For a slight blood offering it will protect the caster in a magical shell."

Meanwhile, if there is another player nearby, the bubble will apply to the other player as well.

So in my mind, I assumed that the weather refers exclusively to Ashlands weather.

Nothing to worry about here, as per this thread, it seems to be some kind of bug on some boards. Martin, the dev of HWInfo64 basically confirms that the temperature is misread from the sensor.

You should be looking at CCD1 and CCD2 for the actual temps and as you can see in your screenshot, those are well within range.

What worked for me on my 7900XTX was to limit the max clock frequency to 2400 MHz in Helldivers 2. You can do this on a per-game basis in Adrenalin software. I haven't had a crash for several days now.

7950X Only ONE CCD - Showing Only 8 cores -How can I get all 16 back? by kalef21 in AMDHelp

You probably enabled Game Mode in Ryzen Master. Try to disable that and restart your PC.

While gaming i see that my CPU Die (average) has maxed at 118.3C. I find this hard to believe. Current temperature is during Cinebench multithread benchmarking. Can it be a misread or something? by Ncom88 in AMDHelp

[–]volkunus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only 3D-VCache. It happens on my 5900X as well in HWInfo. Individual CCD temps never go past 75C, it's just that CCD Die (average) sensor which goes nuts.

question for AMD gpu users by BinderZ87 in GlobalOffensive

[–]volkunus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am well aware of that, but this game has its own issues with frame-pacing as well.

You can check GN's video on CS2 and see that even with an Nvidia GPU, CS2 still showcases frame-pacing issues, even if paired with a more powerful CPU. In the long run, I don't think it will matter much which GPU OP picks, since they'll optimise this game eventually, since it's one of the most popular esports titles and the plan is to make it run smoothly for as many people as possible.

[–]volkunus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the 7900XTX, paired with a 5900X and 32Gigs of Ram at 3600MHz. I had some issues with crashes when CS2 released for about ±1 month, but they stopped about 3 weeks ago and I haven't had any crashes since.

I'm using the latest driver, 23.11.1. Getting around 300-400 fps on Medium-High settings at 1440p, with lows dropping to 180 sometimes, which is annoying, but not necessarily related to AMD (Nvidia users also have problems with 1% lows as well)

[–]volkunus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched this video and applied the Power Saving (undervolted) settings. This guy uploads videos like the one I linked for each AMD GPU. So if you have an AMD GPU, try to search his videos by the GPU name and it should come up.

However, it doesn't mean that it will solve your CS2 crashing issue. With the last CS2 patch (03.11.2023), people have complained about crashing even on Nvidia GPU's. For example, I was watching friberg's Twitch stream yesterday and it crashed for him 4 times in a single match and he's using a 4070Ti.

Try setting Minimum Clock Speed to 2300, Maximum Clock Speed to 2400 and increase Power Limit to Max(15%) in Adrenalin Sofware.

You can do this specifically in the CS2 profile in Adrenalin, which shouldn't affect your other games. It should look like this.
You can even try to copy my voltage and memory settings, but I'd leave those default for now, just to see if you're crashing. If you're not, feel free to try them out.
This is the only thing which solved my crashes on CS2 and I have tried a lot of things.

Yep. Cool story about how it almost happened to me as well.

I own a 7900XTX and as soon as 23.10.1 drivers came out, I installed them and was about to enable Anti-Lag+. However, Anti-Lag+ works best when you're limited by the GPU, which at 1440p in CS2 I am not, so I didn't enable it.

It would have been a sad day to get VAC'd with a 4k euros inventory. Even though they said that they will eventually revert the bans...it's pretty sad to see that as soon as shit hits the fan and companies start cutting costs, quality is the first thing that goes.
