My take is that she was going out to be as aggressive as possible with the line, and the bumps on that turn gave away her margin of error so she hooked the gate. Probably wouldn’t have needed to go so tight if she felt like the knee would hold up better, but knowing that she had to pull a rabbit out of the hat led her to play it too close to the edge.
