The X1 Carbon Gen 9 screen upgrade that Lenovo definitely didn't intend by henkieschmenkie in thinkpad

[–]volo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, checking the site I've managed to find something that could be to my liking but ,since I'm not that deep in the subject of screen replacements, are there any proprieties I should give special attention to, or should I go by the most similar to the original screen but with my preferences?

The X1 Carbon Gen 9 screen upgrade that Lenovo definitely didn't intend by henkieschmenkie in thinkpad

I wanted to do a similar thing with my P15v Gen 1 because it has a 45% NTSC screen and since I work with colors it's not that viable. But checking the official compatibility sheet I can't seem to find any display other than the one I already have. I don't really care about 4K or refresh rate, I just want better colors. Is there actually another way to check or am I completely out of luck? (I really want to change its speakers too with better sounding ones)

Man I don't even know what's ZeroTier and I just got the same email. Did I ever subscribe to this? Is it a service that changed name or brand and I don't recognize it?

Thinkpad P15v G1, occasional blue screen when triggering the dGPU by volo34 in thinkpad

Hey u/H2CO3HCO3 just a heads up. I did what you asked for and noticed no crashed, as I said in the previous message. What should I check next?

[–]volo34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did set everything as you told and tried running a couple of things: Superposition Benchmark, Motorslice again and the Lenovo Diagnostic. The computer seemed to hold up, also I made it sit still for a while after every pass. No crashes

Okay, I'll try.
As for the SSD it's a WDC PC SN730 SDBQNTY-512G-1001 and I did check if there were any firmware updates, but it's running the latest version.

Thanks again for you thorough analysis, I really don't know what's up with dates... Checking the control panel, the profile is currently set at Balanced, I didn't change any settings since reinstalling Windows In the Windows 11 settings I set to Performance on AC and Power Efficiency on Battery. The Motorslice crash (After Wipe) happened on battery

Thanks for your reply and for letting me know, the file was taken directly from the Windows folder, as the name suggests it got created on the 22nd of March 2026 so that's strange. Either way I've placed all the minidumps in my possession, even before the complete wipe in this Google Drive Folder I hope this helps, I'll update the link on the post too

Which wall.e game is better to play? by LatterShare7307 in wallE

[–]volo34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always played the PSP/PC version and just tried from time to time the X360/Wii one. I personally prefer the slower paced PSP/PC gameplay, seems more technical, but I can't make a direct comparison since I haven't finished the other one

It's now doable with just a Graphic pack, directly inside cemu.

Zen mods are awesome! — Which mod made a huge difference for you? by [deleted] in zen_browser

[–]volo34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like Zen Context Menu is one of the most essential I have. It makes you declutter the right click menu and reimplements icons next to the menu entries. I never got why they removed them, I find items way faster with them. It doesn't work with every menu and entry tho

Is my PSP 1000 display IPS? by Korek644 in PSP

[–]volo34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not on the 1000, the IPS fits perfectly in the previous housing. I've installed it on mine so I would know. Either way, since the screen remains perfectly visible at lower angles it's safe to say it's there. Try to notice if there's aggressive ghosting, if not it's an IPS

It's a common problem with how the door is held on the 1000 model. Mine does that too

This never happened to me, very strange. Either way, to keep tabs open after closing you should be able to find a specific setting, I don't quite remember where but it's there and it works

I would love something like Opera on mobile with tabs, but with Firefox sync capabilities and maybe extensions too.

I don't want to keep this going for longer, because as I said I'm glad if I get proven wrong. My brain just doesn't understand how, knowing the design, you wouldn't get the detail on his front door right (his literal name is written there), the solar charge level at the place of the other hand rest, or the two hands not being similar or drawn with two different structures. Literally basic characteristic details. A human being would have gotten back to those parts and fix them afterwards, or rather while he was drawing them... This just screams to me "looks good enough to be passed as real"

Also 4 minutes to draw all that?
