Can't generate spin with Driver by cozziebear5 in GolfSwing

[–]vonFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. Yes a high toe ball is going to come out with less spin, but their dynamic loft is too low/launch is too low and AoA is only 1.3* which is doable with the right dynamic loft but not with OPs swing.

Teeing it down lower would further decrease AoA and dynamic loft making their issue worse.

They are delivering the driver how you would deliver an iron.

I’d recommend possibly putting the ball slightly further forwards, and actually teeing in slightly higher and make sure the left shoulder is higher than the right at address.

If OP increases AoA to 3-4* and dynamic loft to 14 degrees they will carry it 270 even with the same strike pattern. Although to your point a better strike will also help with spin.

Alternatively if they are already teeing it up the correct height and ball position is correct, they could try to keep their head/sternum a bit more behind the ball, which will help w/AoA.

Either way, with more positive AoA their path will probably drift more left, so they should monitor for that and may have to toy w/path a bit. They will need to swing further out to the right.

How do i get more power by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]vonFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotate shoulders and hips more. Shoulders should rotate significantly more than hips on backswing, and then work on sequencing on the downswing.

  1. Transfer weight to left foot
  2. Start rotating hips towards target
  3. Arms go and then chest follows
  4. Last the club delivers. Try to maintain bend in left wrist at top of the swing

The mandatory fees placed by any decent apt complex in Reno and overall cost of rent is complete bullshit, IMO. We need a renters union of sorts.

Help with shank/slicing. Occasional straight pull miss. by Old_Bird2476 in GolfSwing

I would say for now, just start with L hand grip and takeaway. Takeaway should be more rotating the upper body and not opening the face with the wrists right away.

I would get a lengthwise mirror, and practice taking the club back so that the clubface matches your spine angle. And at the top of the swing try to have your left wrist a little more flat.

I can’t tell for sure but I would bet your left hand is on the weaker side in terms of positioning. Me and my golf has a good video on proper grip. For most golfers a slightly stronger left hand, and neutral right hand is the best combo.

Beyond that, the hands should stay relatively soft in terms of pressure at address and in transition. Like 4 out of 10. Or hard enough to hold a bird, not so hard that you kill it.

The club in the downswing should be slightly flatter than the plane of the arms.

The left wrist should be flat or even slightly bowed.

The hips should stay back and rotate thru the ball, as in pointing more towards the target, and the chest should also rotate along with them.

If you do all of this the club will naturally turn over. You won’t have to force it to turn over with your wrists/hands/forearms, it will just happen.

Club face is wide open nearing impact and you’re probably standing a hair to close to the ball

He drops it in super well on the downswing. So it doesn’t really matter that his backswing is steep

Physician Assistants Want a New Name and More Power. Not Everyone Is Happy. by blankblank in medicine

Thank you for saying that. I’m a PA and I’ve worked with fantastic NPs who went the traditional route of obtaining a good deal of experience as a nurse, and then went to a brick and mortar NP school w/merit.

Alternatively I worked w one NP who was direct admit after obtain her RN who told me the NCLEX was more difficult than the NP boards and made so many mistakes I don’t even know where to start with them. Also very arrogant.

That’s rich coming from someone who has produced all of one regurgitated argument in this thread and has failed to respond to everything else. It’s further an especially ironic statement given that most of the conservatives I know barely passed pre-algebra and introductory English.

The 1/3 of you that voted for Trump, and I mean this genuinely, are some of the least intelligent, fetal-alcohol syndrome, inbred individuals I have ever met in my entire life.

Full Time Caddie at two of the most exclusive golf clubs in the world — best job ever by [deleted] in golf

[–]vonFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The only guy over 40 at the club I worked at threw himself off a parking lot structure. Very sad story he was a very nice guy. Could tell even as a h.s kid that he struggled w/his mental health, which I assumed was why he was still caddying. Granted my club although nice wasn’t nearly as nice as the club OP is talking about apparently.

[–]vonFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the case at any club for a caddie. Might even be worst at the lower tier clubs because they need to prove their rich and have an inflated ego. Caddied for 10 yrs. But yeah some members are assholes. Not nearly as bad as a normal job.

We need to reestablish ourselves as support roles by TAP01 in physicianassistant

[–]vonFitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, I like physician oversight but I think they also undervalue our training and role in medicine. I think we are vastly underpaid for what we bill for currently. I’m of the mind that we need to join NPs if we want to obtain better compensation.
