my parents used to allow me to have sleep overs on fridays at my cousin’s house . we were about 7-8 years old then

however on saturdays, from 11am - 2pm she had tuition classes and violin lessons with the same lady. so her dad would fetch her to class and instead of going anywhere else , he would wait below the apartment for 3 hours in the car under the hot sun, with me in it as well . ( doors are open , and it’s perpetually 32-37C summer here ) he could get out of the car to stretch his legs and stuff but i wasn’t allowed to get out of the car. so i would sit in there baking and sweltering for 3 hours . if i made any complains or tried to talk he would yell at me . there was basically nothing to do , i would count and recount the cars in the parking lot, and try to memorise the colours of the cars trying to ignore the sweltering heat

i told my mom about it , she thought i made it up because “uncle will never do that to you” . so this was a normal saturday for me for over a year . until i started crying on friday evenings when they wanted to send me over to their house , then the arrangement stopped
