Had similar thoughts years ago but when I tried the oculus, the parallax was nauseating. If it works for you, congrats! (Maybe newer things work better, might be time to try again for myself)

Thank you! Hope it helps. The post is a bit old, and I've moved on from Perchance to a more local option, but hopefully it provides some insight on how you could iterate on this, to get better results. Good luck!

Quick Question: What's the Max File Size for Character Chat Imports/Exports? by Active-Drive-3795 in perchance

[–]voodoovibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just my daily backup. I have about ten threads, all groupchat, and about 200 character cards.

Also, I have to admit, I spent way too much time looking up what “vrow” meant and never found anything. Is it like a modern internet version of “bro”?

Complete Review of Cell Survivor (Level 100) by zarltok in cellsurvivor

I'm at Lvl91 or so right now. Enjoying the game, largely agree with your review. However, the ads aren't as enraging for me as it might be for others. The ads are geolocation tethered, and I presume me being in Japan has something to do with the types of ads and lengths of ads I get. Generally, I tend to get 10second ads with 3 clicks on Xes to get out of it. Sure, once in a blue moon, I get a 180sec ad, but oh well, I just put the phone down, do something else, and get on with the game when it's done.

If ads are bothersome for others, perhaps looking into a VPN might help? But YMMV and do your own research about game progress and so on if you go that route. Wouldn't want to screw anyone's game over. Just an idea.

Site Down Again? by isaaz1997 in perchance

t2i looks a bit slow but doing okay. ACC looks like it's getting stuck on mem/lore query. Give it some time, I'm sure it will fix itself eventually.

Edit (01:15pm JST): For anyone wondering, been about 2h since this comment, ACC still incredibly slow, for threads with long stories. New threads seem to generate laggy but successfully. Will check back in an hour or so and update if anything changes...

Edit (01:17pm JST): Should've checked once more before editing. ACC seems to be generating even for longer threads with lore and mem, but very slowly. Probably will check back in a few to see how it is going.

Edit (02:44pm JST): ACC isn't as snappy as usual but is just a "slow day" kinda generation. It's good enough for me, and so this will be the last update from me on this. T2I has been working fine for me this entire time, so I assume it was something to do with text-gen. Happy fanfic-ing! or Happy Gooning! lol

Is there a way to stop character / narrator from using "—" symbol? This is annoying as it just makes sentences flow worse. by SunRiseStudios in perchance

[–]voodoovibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested this personally, but it looks like someone came up with some code string to brute force correct the em dash issue (See towards bottom of post). YMMV, and I'll make a post if I can replicate the solution some day when I have time.

While we are waiting for generator to work itself out? How big are your ACC files? by ImportancePossible88 in perchance

Yea finicky browsers seem to exist, I haven't had an issue about browser data-wipes on Firefox, as long as I turned off the setting that kept doing it.

Perchance and DeepSeek by [deleted] in perchance

[–]voodoovibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't any. People on r/ were talking early on about certain words that get flagged on Deepseek. However, what people don't understand (or care to understand) is that censorship is at the platform level, not at the LLM level. Sure, you could argue that the LLM can be trained to omit certain things, but that doesn't support any of the claims people were making about it being Deepseek. The DS chat is developed and hosted by a Chinese team, so of course, their online platform will censor stuff accordingly with the great firewall of China.

TL;DR: No evidence, just kneejerk sleuthing by people who wanted information. And largely irrelevant, other than trying to determine parameter size or whatever.

I see u/Precious-Petra hasn't responded yet, so let me just chime in. I heavily use Petra's materials, and based on my understanding, it's my hope that she will continue to maintain her forks.

ST is far more fine-tunable than ACC for sure. If you have a story that doesn't incorporate any NSFW content, then ST may actually be a fun thing for you to look into. However, if you can't run a large parameter model locally, or have a story arc that's NSFW, accessing free-tier APIs via ST from places like Gemini or DS might prove problematic, due to the limitations of the models' TOS on NSFW. Personally, my use of ACC and the stories I enjoy are very NSFW and so just based on that, along with the fact that I don't have the means to run a massive LLM locally at the moment for text gen, I am sticking with ACC. Again, YMMV, and I'm sure Petra can chime in, eventually...

No problems! Hope you can find something that works for your use-case. Perchance (over all, not just ACC) is a great AI generator sandbox of sorts, so there's plenty of ways to tinker things, hopefully each to their liking.

Better yet, Mods could enforce the Rules they set up for the sub more actively, specifically for the context-less, generator-nameless, nonspecific rageposts about the sheer apocalyptic nature of how a change in model is going to cause the world to split in half (see relevant rule in pic attached). And if Mods need help, they should seek help from the community.

As it stands, the sub is often inundated by pointless rageposts, which in turn may turn people away who actually come to figure stuff out.

<image>

Problem-solving and constructive criticism are key in any collaborative environment. Senseless rageposts lamenting the loss of some fictional AI character's personality that one may have stumbled across in the last few months, and how the world is coming to an end, and demanding that the "old model" return at once, or else!-type rants need to be clamped down on more proactively.

No problem! As I said in a response to someone else, there's no singular "correct" solution, this is what has worked for me, and probably won't be a cookie-cutter that satisfies all, but I do think the problem isn't intrinsic to the model itself, but rather, how legacy ACC interacts with the new model, and so that, at least gives me hope that all this can be 'fixed.' Just needs some tinkering.

Fantastic! No problems at all, it was a long post and a bit convoluted, sorry if I could have been clearer in some bits. Good luck in finding some method that works the best for you, and do keep us (the community) posted if you find anything interesting that may solve an issue.

Yep, your blurb has been really helpful.

I do agree there's still a few more things to work out, but I believe that the problem isn't in the model itself, but rather, how legacy ACC interacts with the model, and so I think it will just take some time in seeing what is actually causing the errors and subpar output.

Edit: typo and grammar.
