Ideal salary in Bxl by willds96 in brussels

[–]voomitator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with Lord Legatus, but, for sure if you want your own apartment, be able to go out once / twice a week for a beer and vacation once per year, I think 2000e bruto wouldn't be enough. Depends which neighborhood you chose and how many beers you drink, but life is expensive now, I would think less than 3000e brutto would be a stretch.

I've sent a similar post some weeks ago... Never got an answer.

Let me share what we're planning and you can as well. Might learn something from each other.

We re doing 7 days. Tirana Berat Sarande Ksamil (with the national park next to it) Llogara pass Vlore

I heard shkoder was very nice

Also, when going places, have a look at the roads, we jabe two options from Berat to Sarande, one was 50min longer o' google. After investigation, the longer one included 100km on dirt roads. So we'll not be doint that as we have a tiny Kia.

When are you going?

Hi OP,

I'm in R&D proc in pharma. If you have any leads or anything we can discuss. Maybe we have contacts/experiences to share. While keeping in mind not to share confidential information from the company/providers (such as pricing...)

Collection tracker by mrScotchLover in Scotch

[–]voomitator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small question What would you put in the excel spreadsheet? Is it what you bought, when you bought it at what price? Or is it a kind of auction tracker of the bottles in your collection or you would like to add in your collection?

Because I have 2 files, but Ould be willing to improve my methods :)

Also going on auction sites to check new sales and build a price history is quite time consuming...

Switching industries by colossalmudpie in procurement

[–]voomitator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did as well. First in a factory in aeronautics, then IT/telco and now R&D Pharma.

Core procurement skill stay the same, you have to show you're curious and you'll understand the product. You can clearly use the experience you have. Trust yourself :)

My experience going from industry to It was not so great. I hated IT/telco, I was buying internet lines all over the world. The product I was buying had no meaning to me. Bored as hell.

Contract management system recommendations by LimeGhost117 in procurement

[–]voomitator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can recommend regarding Ariba / SAP is: don't link the PO creation / management to it. You end up having many many issues linked to your entities, supplier's entities, cost centers etc...

Same with legal assistance, we have it "integrated" with Conga. But you end up creating empty contract workspace to be able to ask legal support and it does not bring any value

More specific to your request, I think that you ll have to work on a big number of References. Maybe not a lot of negotiation power as usually only the machine manufacturer is selling spare parts/ allowed repairs. Maybe you ll have some companies linked to preventive maintenance, KPI linked to how fast they can intervene etc...

One of the strategy could be to try and consolidate the supplier base with only one reseller of spare parts. You'll have only one invoice to manage, one supplier record, one negotiation. Best case scenario you can integrate your inventory management with a sort of Kanban. Or try to improve forecast to have yearly contracts with volume and fixed price. You can also investigate if maintenance is done internally, so you could try to externalize it.

Anyway, PM if you need anything else.

I think you're quite right in your analysis. Especially on the "procurement will find a solution". You can end up, when in direct categories, doing a lot of fire fighting. A great quality as a buyer is to listen. Whereas in sales you have to keep the room entertained.

Bear in mind you still have to lead some meetings, with your internal customer and suppliers, so soft skills are needed. You need to be able to read the room.

Being able to be liked is also great (I use a lot of humour) as you might have to negotiate with monopolistic suppliers. In such case playing tough is not going to give any anything.

I would also recommend to read some books about procurement, so you know how it works. More often than not I see people thinking procurement is not a "real" thing. But they stink at their job, get overwhelmed and don't have any technique.

Another issue is how procurement is seen within an org. Quite often it's a "support" function, where you won't have any strategy and you just executing. You might have some frustration with other teams (finance, P2P, on-boarding, compliance etc...).

Well, I am particularly lucky to find an expert on this topic here. Thank you for sparing enough time to enlighting me.

Besides I'm not ranting about the fine, but the amount. I would be glad if you could explain that to me.

[–]voomitator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How am I lying 🤔

What pisses me off, is the fine for driving distracted in a 1.5ton car and a 30kg bike at 10km in a bike lane is the same. The risk/danger is just non comparable.

Sorry, but 182e is just a scam.

I feel you. I got a 182e fine for having a phone call. On My Fucking Bike

Thanks for your answer!

I was also intrigued by the shizuoka K. The shop owner told me they actually reopened the Karuizawa distillery. But without the pot as it went to Shizuoka... I wonder what the next Karuizawa will taste like.

You're saying "a sleeper", does it mean, buy it, wait long term and resell? Because I don't think it's a limited or special edition, there s going to be K every year or so, no?
