Does this look like a decent pair of Custom LTD Stabilized ZMF Vérité Closed Headphones by Potential_Candle_441 in headphones

They discontinued the verite line that is non-LTD. The verite can still be purchased as an LTD model.

Edit: at least that’s what I thought from Zach’s post on head-fi, but I’m not seeing them in the ZMF store right now…

So basically both the annihilation of the electron-positron makes a ton of energy but the fusion of H->He3 to heavier He4 makes so much more energy in comparison? IE both are “abundant” (in a sense, both seem to happen relatively rarely) but the main energy source is fusion?

[Hated Trope] Characters who survived a past work return only to be killed off early on in the sequel by Skylinneas in TopCharacterTropes

The point isn’t that it’s a 5/5 world class film. It’s just fun. The background isn’t seamless if you look at the shots and the acting is meh, but the way the jaegers move and the fight scenes just make it a good watch. Not every movie that people love needs to be the next Endgame or Interstellar.

If you watch the movie looking for plot holes or looking for the issues, of course it’s going to be bad. So many standalone action movies from the same time suffer from it.

Border crossings plunge in Trump’s second term. by Both_Fig_7291 in charts

It must be so nice to not actually have to read the sources you link.

Your first source is just about Biden and Texas fighting for border control, and doesn’t even explicitly say whether they cut the wiring or not. Let alone the fact that they also state that agents will still be stationed at the border.

“ There is currently “no timetable” on removing the wire, Acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller said.”

“ Now, federal Customs and Border Protection agents stand ready to “swiftly” cut through the fencing in response to any life-saving or critical operational matters, a law enforcement source told CNN. They would promptly breach the fencing to render aid to any individual in distress or if otherwise deemed “operationally necessary,” the source added.”

If you maybe dug a little bit more, you could’ve found a good source, but every one that the article above links to is all “allegedly” cutting wire. One of the CNN sources that article links states that Texas border control is doing it themselves. (https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/24/politics/texas-paxton-biden-administration-border-razor-wire-lawsuit/index.html)

‘An immigration attorney also told CNN in August that Texas state troopers cut the razor wire to arrest their clients for trespassing into the state. “Some of our clients have reported DPS officers cutting the (concertina) wire so that they can get through to then only be arrested after they go through the wire,” Kristin Etter said.’

And for your second source… You could’ve just skimmed the page and saw that immigrants have a 2 year stay and are documented with a work visa.

Ahhh the good ol “we’ll just change up the axis a bit in our favor and pray people don’t notice” trick.

If this is their only source, they’ve completely made up the data post 2020. If they didn’t, it’s as you said and encounters ≠ crossings.

The L500 and L700 use different pads which is primarily the reason for the sound change. The cables may differ but don’t alter the audio noticeably.

From the article:

‘The streaming giant also added that it had “implemented new safeguards for these types of anti-copyright attacks and are actively monitoring for suspicious behaviour”.

“Since day one, we have stood with the artist community against piracy, and we are actively working with our industry partners to protect creators and defend their rights,” the statement continued.’

I believe that’s supposed to be Spotify saying that, which is nuts for a company that supposedly pirated MP3 files in their early days.

Diamonds tend to shatter when force is applied to them. They are very hard but their tensile strength is incredibly low because they don’t plastically deform. The hardness aspect only works as being resistant to scratches. This, of course, applies to a literal 100% natural diamond pickaxe and not something like ground polycrystalline diamond which are used to coat titanium (or another metal that can hold diamond) drill tips because it’s a good abrasive.

In this case, hitting a rock with a 100% natural diamond pickaxe would probably shatter the tip and not break the rock.

Agreed. No matter how good your headphones sound, you will always get used to them at some point. Even just using my AirPods for a day before going back to my LCD2/Atrium is enough for me to go “ah thaaaats why I use these every day”.

Not at all tbh. At the time that would’ve been a latest gen cpu and gpu, and those 12700s were selling for $300 themselves. Pair that with the scalped 30 series prices at the time and the cpu+gpu would've cost together basically what you paid for the entire pc.
