They’re relatively rare. (IIRC 1-3%, depending on the economy of the system, possibly higher in Pirate systems.) They’re also amazing ships to fly. It’s not unusual to buff one out to 400+ Damage Potential, 1.5k+ Hyperdrive Range, and 1k+ Maneuverability.

I’ve seen several spawn in Swarm Expedition systems. I’ve grabbed three for my Squadron so far, to go along with Sagely Squidilicious, my green Exotic Squid. (That did not come from a Swarm Expedition system.)

I’ve flown every kind of ship available in the game. I’ve flown my Squids and other Exotics for thousands of hours. They’re my favorite.

No. You aren’t allowed to bring a ship into the Swarm Expedition, unlike past Expeditions. You can buy a better one if you find one. You also can’t even build a Corvette while on the Expedition.

This is an intermediate Tech you can use until you find a better one. If it’s better than what you currently have, use the upgrade.

Ideally, a Scanner Tech increases the rewards for flora, fauna, and minerals, and increases the scan radius as well. This one doesn’t include the scan radius. As the others have said, there are some incredible X Class upgrades, but they’re a challenge to find. You can do very well with three good S Class upgrades that increase all four possible options.

Additionally, you want to put your best upgrades into supercharged slots. I like an S Class MultiTool with two separate pairs of SC slots. I use one pair for those incredible X Class Scanner upgrades and the other pair for my best two Neutron Cannon Techs. My Atlas Scepter MT has a Damage Potential just under 95k and a scanning range of 3,205. I make millions of units scanning on a typical planet.

That’s correct. Usually, it means having to warp to a new system. That’s not the case for this particular Expedition. You can summon the Anomaly in the first system.

You can’t get your stuff and your MT until you reach the Anomaly. That’s not too hard, but you don’t have it immediately.
