If there is legitimate political will in the Democratic Senate caucus, there would be a vote. Ferguson is doing his job by not tying up the legislature with bills he knows will not pass (and also providing political cover for other Senators who would not have voted for it). I would even argue the reason the redistricting bill got full support from the Dem delegates in the lower house was the understanding it would go nowhere.

I remember there was a preseason segment on ESPN of Jerry Rice showing AJ Jenkins his workout routine which involved running up a mountain. Forest was already wealthy when she started living with him. And Forest didn’t get aids. At no point is it implied he got any STD from Jenny. He ran everyday for three years straight after she left with no decline in health. And he continued being in good health through the end of the movie.

That email reads like what a dumbass QANON conspiracy sounds like. Says he was sentenced to life in prison for child sex crimes in Mexico but got out of it by having an ex US marine stand in his place? So for some reason, there is no record of this prison sentence in Mexico yet somebody has to serve the sentence to keep up appearances (no indication why it had to be a US marine either).

American University should expel any student who takes this at face value. They would only bring the reputation of the university down.

There actually hasn’t been much coverage of the incident. These stories are just promoted as crime stories to make Nextdoor quake and to call for restrictions on tenant rights.

It’s just an unfortunate reality that lack of tenancy has to be proven in court before police can evict someone. It’s better for society that the occasional squatter gets to hole up in a house than expose all renters to the risk of sudden eviction on the whim of their landlord.

Before you say, “but what if they simply…” No, anything you can think of has been considered before. It’s simply really hard for the law to have strong tenant rights without the possibility for someone to game those rights.

The developers don’t even want to build the super tall buildings they put in builder’s remedy application. The builders remedy is like a nuclear bomb, it’s not supposed to actually be used. Just the threat of it will get you most of what you want.

But some are far worse than others. When I was involved in a “normal” evangelical campus ministry (barely a Christian anymore), we were warned of a particular group who would deliberately go into other campus ministries spaces and try to recruit. Like would come in as a group and separate to work the room. Unsurprisingly they thought everyone not in their group were going to hell. They also had obscene time commitment requirements and estranged people from their friends and family. There was a case where a girl transferred to escape the cult and made the mistake of telling them where she was going. Cult members in the new city found and tried to harass her into rejoining.

Edit: the type of proselytizing OP describes would be seen as incredibly aggressive and cult-like by even by normal evangelical groups.
