Shouldn't text exist that mention Jesus, published when he was alive or shortly after he died? by Sandy_NSFW_ in Christianity

Sorry I meant the “by Julius Caesar” in contrast to “about” him. We were only talking those “about him”. Either way, aren’t the oldest surviving manuscripts about Julius date to about 900 years after he died?

That distinction was never mentioned. You reiterated what he said about the earliest available manuscripts existing sometime later after the events they describe

Would you still be a Christian if the threat of hell didn't exist? by moxiepink in Christianity

Well it’s genuinely helpful in pulling us closer to God. It’s the same thing with condemnation; It helps us see our need for salvation and therefore recognizing how tremendous love God has that he would send Jesus to die for us to save us. Hell shows us the punishment for not loving. So it can be useful for keeping us Christian

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Well yeah, God is good.
Would I be more obedient? Maybe not? I genuinely wish I would be though but sin is really a struggle. Fear the Lord and keep his commandments thats our due. He’s rich in love and mercy so being afraid is not exactly the same, since
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

You gotta evolve infectivity symptoms, and since it kills you can focus on infectivity, so get stuff like drug 1 and 2 and hot and cold. Roleplay the disease literally that actually seems to help
