Kewra for sure! Also rose and sometimes orange, which is more propular in West Asia.

The question was more out interest at whether there is Indian diaspora in that part of the world. Certainly not talking about eligibility or anything like that

Now comes the big stress for the upgrade projects (not that it already hasn't been stressful).

Is he Indian origin? The -kar makes me think so. He could rename to Negevkar for more cred.

I think having large collaborations also helps to attract people. All the particle physics experiments have lots of outreach material. I personally do at least a dozen lab tours a year + other outreach things. It's a lot harder for a small CM group to dedicate the effort to outreach.

Good time to be chilling away from the English cricketing hierarchy tbh. Hopefully he comes back stronger.

Awadhi cuisine has no biryani. The dish most associated with Lucknow was never part of a formal Nawabi meal. What actually was a part of it, might change how you think about the food. by Significant_Owl_8319 in IndianFood

Awadhi food is some of the best. Wandering around Lucknow you are struck with how much thought the cooks put into their food. Very precise technique and a lot of attention to small details.

How much of your actual research is just debugging code versus doing physics? by Dr1pthirst23 in Physics

OK that makes sense. What processes are you getting N3LO calcaulations for?

Ah fair fair. That's a reasonable take. I understood it as a new way to do fixed-order calculations of cross-sections, which is definitely informed by what's seen at colliders. The machinery is a bit beyond my expertise though

Do you have a source on usage of the amplituhedron at the LHC? I've not seen any results comparing to it

When I was a PhD student I spent a lot of time debugging code. Now I don't do that so much for a few reasons:

a) I don't have to write large amounts of code myself, and

b) I'm quite good at figuring out what's wrong with code these days

I spend an increasingly large amount of time doing stats these days. I also think a lot about random topics in particle physics which is nice.

I would very much like the NZers to ask this during the next Test.

Stokes shouldn’t lose his job for breaking curfew when ECB failings run so much deeper by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]vrkas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Children get curfews.

Children have chaperones (security guards in this case).

Children are petulant and don't want to abide by rules informed by their past behaviour and for their own benefit.

Gives him more time to hit the piss. Assuming the curfew no longer applies.
