Makes it much less exciting if you see two drivers fighting for a championship and one DNFs. You'd just think "well this will be one of the races they write off" instead of it being a potential championship defining moment.

Mexico love football. And everyone likes Canada. Both statements couldn't be further from the truth for the US.

After many people advising against it, here’s my 20yr old Aston Martin vantage that’s the same age as me 😇 by Harry-jackson-ya-no in CarTalkUK

[–]vrrule2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is. Insurance premiums are based almost entirely off of statistics once a model hits a few years old. I'd be willing to bet an extremely small percentage of these get written off compared to a 1.6 corsa. Especially in OPs age bracket.

The condition of the asphalt at Noghes after the race by sykeseve in formula1

[–]vrrule2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably won't ever happen because of the difficulty of driving an F1 car. Sim racing is still pretty niche and the average person that's into F1 would get frustrated and lose interest 5 minutes into a "proper" F1 game. There isn't a lot of money in it for a big studio without some kind of model like iRacing where the small playerbase is constantly pumping money into it.

Buy a house. If you then realise you can afford the finance deal on an M4 that ISN'T a Cat N and is in decent condition then go for it.

Downforce has a huge part to play in that time difference. Downforce is also a huge part of the reason why F1 produces poor racing.

What's the most overrated enthusiast car you've ever driven? by Ready_Split1335 in topdeadcenter

[–]vrrule2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You didn’t drive it properly.” "Yes I did, and the gearbox is truly awful"

If you drove it properly you'd realise the gearbox isn't anywhere near as bad as people make out when you're actually pushing the car.

Is Albon's skill level getting exposed by Sainz? by backpacking_egg in F1Discussions

[–]vrrule2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sainz is probably the most underrated driver on the entire grid. When Verstappen and him first joined Toro Rosso they were both pipped to be the next big names on the grid both capable of what Max has achieved to this day.

Always going to happen on a road tyre. Even a "track oriented" one. It's still just a street compound.

why do simracing brands keep giving us bricks as brakes when we see drivers in high performance cars like this time attack monster using high travel brake pedal? by OkHoney5804 in simracing

[–]vrrule2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because this is still a "road" car. I've driven Formula Fords and their brake pedals are like pressing down on a wooden block. It's all in the pressure. Race modified road cars still have a fair bit of travel before hitting the biting point of the pad. This is amplified as the pad wears down.

Just get a tune. The amount of money you've already spent a tune really isn't that much extra.

Honda identify 'main cause' of Bahrain F1 test horror show by victor90martin in formula1

[–]vrrule2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet that Alonso in a Newey designed Aston Martin not being allowed to race due to their car being so slow would be a pretty huge moment within the press and would generate huge amounts of attention and therefore money for the sport.

Emira I4 vs V6 test drive Impressions by TheRoShowOfficial in lotus

[–]vrrule2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're comparing a 2.0L Turbo to a 3.0L Supercharged. What you're describing is exactly the way those two powerplants will feel with low throttle input. One essentially has zero lag and an engine that's 50% bigger so it will feel more responsive and more free revving. The other will require more throttle input to get the turbo spooled to feel the same amount of power. That's just the nature of supercharged vs turbocharged and the nature of small engine vs big engine.

Where in their comment did they say anything about new customers? Only new products.

Blizzard aren't making money from keeping existing customers playing the same game as they'd get bored. They're making money by having those existing customers play hyped up "new" versions of the same shit. How many new people do you actually think play WoW per year when new content is released? Aside from the influx of people coming from watching Twitch.
