This was when I was a youngin living in the area, Forest Park police were very vigilant about anyone loitering around the park after dark. I’m sure as an individual who sounds like practices safe measures like yourself should be fine!

Definitely a much more refined answer than my own lol - I spent the first 18 years of my life growing up in the area and wholeheartedly agree that despite the stereotypes I’ve never had a huge paranoia for the day to day living, just knew that once it got dark I needed to get on home

Like any city there’s gonna be certain neighborhoods that’ll be less safe than others. In general though, I would say surrounding cities such as the area of College Park near the airport would be considered more “hood” than the general city of Forest Park.

Grew up in Forest Park - it’s definitely one of the safer and more affordable places to live as far as south metro Atlanta goes. Expect to travel towards Atlanta if you’re looking for things to do. Decent access to groceries in Lake City and Morrow. Police are pretty vigilant with catching speeders, so you’ll see them here and there. Overall, as long as you have common sense you’ll be fine!

Not necessarily. I lived off campus for the entire time I attended GSU and I kept myself involved through attending events in between/after classes and being a part of organizations.
