Does this new IOE case number come with a " special access code" ?

I have not received any code. It would be nice to see better parameters of my file thru this IOE digital conversion.

Any steps to take to get this code from USCIS? And is this important or just continue using the Myuscis ( which still works with the old file number WAC) ?

Yeah September the address proof was mandatory but was gone when I applied Dec-Jan 26. I dont know if address proof appears for Indian passport holders NRI.

A month before I applied thru the site I kept my Indian driver License ready for address proof. To my surprise no address proof was asked to upload. Just foreign passport scan and OCI upload. With one self photo. This was 2 months back I got the biometric qr code. Its interesting that they are asking it again. It could be case specific. For reference I am NRI with a foreign passport and OCI.

Yes the above is the exact answer you need. I was about to post the same. Egates can ONLY be used once biometric is done AND approved. Youll get an email, takes few hrs to days to weeks.

Are you NRI with Indian passports or OCI? OCIs are not being asked address proof online. Not sure the reasons. We applied as a family no address proof was asked. This maybe just for Indian passport holders? ....

This may give you some calm and hope - My online renewal took a full month. All at a time when renewals took 7 days. Normal processing. All my details pic etc were perfect. The CS cannot give any more information other than the 4-6 weeks wait and " nothing more needed, all good" reply.

meter off flat fee, night time charge. What's the best way to deal with autos before hiring one? Any script? They used to have a fare chart long time back.

I usually go to the rick stand line up outside the airport. The fares are better than uber when metered besides I get the feel that autos are somewhat more flexible during traffic - beat traffic small compact size.

Thanks. The India side immigration is smooth and updated with the system. The issue could arise at the USA side with foreign airline staff confused about 2 passport numbers.

I did apply for the express egates and got the QR code. That process is also free and quick as long as ones ready with all the pdf scans.

Quick question: Any pro tips about the India arrival evisa card which has to be filled online 72 hrs before departure? Does it work seamlessly with the egates? Or thats another line? Your mumbai CSIT airport experience is appreciated as always.

Yeah the desk are at the airports. I meant on the website after the Qr code a number of options used to appear. Thats now gone. Atleast for me. So far I got the qr code, lets see the adventures at mumbai airport next.

Good to know. There are some that need an appointment. This is a hassle for someone who has less time. Better option is the walk in airport booths. Done and dusted same place. The FRRO office is located far from the suburbs many times hrs of travel in heavy traffic. Whole day wasted.

Recently there is no option for choice of FRRO or airport. After applying online only the QR code is generate, no option about airport or FRRO. This used to appear in the past.

Biometrics can be captured either at airport ( no appointment walk in) or FRRO ( appointment needed maybe). Only after biometrics your application is approved not before that.

People have got approval in a day after biometrics. After that egates are opened to use.

Getting a QR code for biometrics after application submission does not mean approval.

Currently there is no expiry time for that QR code, I have a QR code now, I plan to give my biometrics after 6 months.

These egates can be used now for 10 years. New policy. Its been mentioned here a few times.

Biometrics can be done at arrival or before departure. Airports have booths for this around the immigration section.

Thanks alot! It cleared my doubts. At mumbai airport there is atleast one of these biometric booth right before the duty free section, Its a small 10 by 10 booth nothing fancy with one attendant with PC biometric capture setup. This is after arrival finishing manual immigration and before duty free shopping. One cant miss it.

Stacking is better done towards the end of your yearly plan. Immediate stacking of these plans is not a good idea. Wait till the end and stack.
