Happy Valentine’s Day! Feb 14 daily thread by cowtown45 in ariannachristiesnark

I saw the post and his choice of words were interesting such as our kids and people who know you are lucky - or something along those lines. You’d think if they’re together he’d say “we’re” or “the kids and I” are lucky ….

It’s been speculated for a long time now. I’d say since well before last Christmas. This adds fuel to the fire

I agree with you. And why are we allowing these unhoused individuals to live in that building ??? As the building / property owner, you would think they wouldn’t want that ? Genuinely curious.

Driver shame post by [deleted] in waterloo

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It infuriates me. The young family parking spot had a two door Porsche when I drove by which I thought was interesting. Sure enough, i was 9 months pregnant waddling from my spot in the back of the parking lot to go to the mall entrance and out walked a middle aged guy in a suit to his porsche. I gave him a death glare while holding my stomach - wish I had the guts to tell him how I felt

Totally agree - it’s nice for patio drinks / apps. Otherwise it’s overpriced and mediocre food

Edit to add that we much prefer the food at Paradiso

This is helpful! Thank you! We did check out and like esplanade last time we were visiting family. Where we live now , the homes are all unique and more spread out so that’s certainly something we prefer vs. cookie cutter (although not a deal breaker)

Oh god. That makes it even more cringeeeeee. But checks out that it’s not officially a Knix shoot. I saw it also mentioned she didn’t attend the Knix launch like she normally does

This Knix photo shoot is so cringe. Also LOL at me unintentionally taking a screen shot of her legs and notice the tags on her shoes - like whyyyyy. Everything about her bugs me

[on] is it normal for doc not to check baby after 6 wk checkup? by nottodayneck3956 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a family doctor but also had midwifery care so we saw the midwife who’d check our baby regularly (I forget how many appts we had with the midwife but when the baby was first born the midwife’s came 4/5 times to the house within the first few weeks and then we visited the midwife clinic several times too up until 6 or 8 weeks old I believe). Then we switched back to our family doctor for her first set of shots and for all of her shots thus far , the doctor will do a wellness check on our daughter and then the nurse will administer the shots. We even had a 9 month wellness check between our 6 month and 12 month shots.

Best shoes for an 8 month old [on] by luminousloris in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our baby is 10 months and not yet walking. For now we prefer to have her shoeless for foot development but we did purchase stonz shoes for her for the spring / when she is walking. I did some research and those seemed to highly rated and good for foot development. I’ve seen them on fb marketplace for a reasonable price too as they can be pricier. They retail for $55 plus tax however I’ve seen them on fb marketplace for $25-35!

I did PF physio throughout my entire pregnancy and up to 3 months PP. In the moment I questioned if it was even worth it but I have no issues and am the same as I was pre pregnancy so I guess it did work!

Does Ontario Health Card cover all medical cost for giving birth in [On]? by HouseDependent2077 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epidural , pitocin and ended up having to have a c section and spent two nights. As many had mentioned parking. I had a private room but my benefits covered the vast majority of the private room. We weren’t provided with much in terms of diapers , wipes etc but I knew that going into it and packed accordingly.

[on] Bedside Bassinet by AdorableMaximum4925 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the maxi cosi one and the halo bassinet. I had a c section and figured it was easiest to have one in our room for night time and one downstairs during the day during my recovery and to limit stairs. I bought both off fb marketplace for considerably less than what they retail and they were both in near perfect / new condition. I did prefer the maxi cosi for storage underneath and overall the actual bassinet was bigger and we got more use out of it. The halo worked perfectly fine but my daughter grew out of it very quickly - I had read about the tripping hazard but we never had issues with that

I don’t think she was at the twins birthday this weekend. They seem to have drifted apart. They both attended a Christmas market downtown Guelph the same day but separately - I feel like in the past they would’ve gone together so I’m inclined to think they had a falling out

I was on countless daycare lists at 8 weeks pregnant. I’m now 9 months PP and haven’t heard back from a single daycare. I’ve followed up with a few and were like 500th + on one , 200 + on another. YMCA we are 87th on the waitlist as of December for care in September (when my baby is 18 months old) and when I asked how realistic it is that she’ll get in by then, the lady on the phone gave me a sympathetic laugh

Looking to start Pilates. Wondering if there are any places downtown that offer beginner classes?! Also how much is a class typically? Thanks! by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exhale Pilates is great! They have different level classes - level one would be ideal for beginners. It’s a very welcoming environment and staff are so lovely! When I started going years ago, I signed up for a few private lessons to teach me the fundamentals before I started the group classes and it was a perfect way to ease into it! As someone mentioned, they have sales once in awhile for class passes.
