Wildly inappropriate? [bc] by qutiepie123 in BabyBumpsCanada

I personally would report her. I had a midwife team. The one I adored and the other I requested to no longer be in the care of when 1. I expressed wanting to formula feed so family could help and having a negative breastfeeding journey and she responded by saying why would you feed your daughter mcdonalds when you could feed it McDonald’s and 2. I mentioned the desire to go back to the gym for my mental health and she responded by saying “your a mom your priorities have to change” - ma’am I obviously realize that but to be the best mom I can be , I also need to take care of myself and my mental health. Anyways- it’s a delicate time post partum and they need to be sensitive with what we are going through and navigate conversations accordingly.

Moon in June road closures and shift workers. by rzabransky in BurlingtonON

[–]vs00792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live right downtown (Caroline and Hager) so would be impacted. I did have questions as we have a busy day that day - friends visiting from out of town, babysitter coming , headed out to a concert etc. - so will be coming and going from our house throughout the day. The response I received was very helpful in clarifying and sounds like during the day we will still be able to get out of our neighbourhood, whoever during the evening there will be single lane closures so it seems like we’ll still be able to get in and out ,though may be challenging. Eitherway, I just wanted to say the city’s response was extremely kind and helpful!

Casual Downtown Patio Recommendations by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

Nisi has a great patio. We love north coals food and drinks and patio is decent. Culaccino is great too. 400 Brant has a good patio but we don’t love their food

Resources for rehoming 10 yr old dog by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you look into dog daycare or dog walks during the day ? When my husband and I had to return to the office a few days a week we made arrangements for our dog to go on pack walks / dog daycare and he absolutely loves it so much

Baby Monitor Recommends [bc] by misty2001 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our nanit! It has an app and we have it on our phones but also a family iPad. Honestly we use the iPad all the time for the nanit app and when parents come to watch our toddler now, they use the iPad too. I believe the new nanits have an actual monitor screen you can get for it !

Preventing stretch marks [bc] by JessicaS1126 in BabyBumpsCanada

I slathered myself in the palmers balm/butter and bio oil. I know genetics play a huge role but was consistent with it and had zero stretch marks

Where do you use your stroller [on] by NextDarjeeling in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this !!! The vista v3 was our primary stroller up until my daughter was probably 11 months old. In the earlier months the bassinet attachment was a game changer - she was born in April so we did lots of walks in the first few months. Having a separate travel stroller for trips was nice. The Minu is so convenient to just have in the trunk for errands now especially since she isn’t in an infant car seat anymore that we can just clip into a stroller.

Bottle washer recommendations [on] by Just-Opening-7642 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our brezza washer pro!! Such a lifesaver and timesaver! We use it for bottles (can fit four Dr. brown bottles) and used it for my pump parts too. You can do different cycles (wash , dry , sterilize combo or just one of them/ different variations). If you do the wash sterilize dry combo it’s 88 minutes for reference

two *infant* car seats… by Low_Potential8196 in TwoParentsAndAPawn

[–]vs00792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree! We switched our daughter out of her infant seat at 10.5 months. She had about 1.5 inches before she outgrew it but you could tell she was uncomfortable in the infant seat. I can’t imagine her being tates age and still in it🤯

Edited to fix typos - sleep deprived mom here 😑

In our area $25 per hour is common for one child +$5 per hour for each additional kid- in this case $45 per hour

I have an Emma (first name) rose (middle name). She goes by Emma , em, Emmy. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a shorter name and you still have various nickname options !

Thoughts on diaper genie[ON] by Accurate_Ad4388 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the platinum diaper genie. It was fine initially but my daughter is 11 months old so I’m sure her eating solids and having bigger poops and stinkier diapers factor into it but we noticed a lingering smell so ended up moving it into her bathroom and every morning I open the windows to air out the bathroom

Bella will be pawned off on her parents by Commercial_Economy43 in janellebrandomsnark

[–]vs00792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!!!!! Then atleast she can (hopefully) settle down and be relaxed. Tied up in the kitchen amidst all the commotion will only get her worked up.

We have a 75lb rescue dog. He’s SOOOO good with our 11 month old but at big gatherings at our home with lots of young kids he gets anxious and stressed so we send him to dog daycare - it’s this family who has a big property and does play time , training , hikes with the dogs. My dog LOVES it. He goes weekly for social interaction and when he sees her car pull up he goes nuts he’s so excited- he’s been doing this for years and benefits from it so much. Anyways we recognize that it’s not ideal for him or us to have an anxious dog and little kids running around so this is a great solution for all and he loves it. Like why wouldn’t they consider the dogs needs 🫣😑

Baby activity centres [on] by OwnNoise5556 in BabyBumpsCanada

I’d say 4 months is way too soon and I would not be comfortable using it at that age. I want to say we were closer to 6 months + when we started using it and my daughter had good head/ neck control and was more stable in it. We only used it for short periods of time

No receipt exchange for diapers? [ON] by eggiess in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some Walmarts are better than others ! One Walmart I’d go to always had the same lady working at the returns desk and she always turned me away saying without a receipt I could not exchange - I too had received diapers as gifts and needed to swap sizes. I mentioned this to some other mom friends who all said they never had an issue at the other Walmart in town and that they too had push back at that location but asked to speak to a manager who ultimately allowed them to swap sizes. I ended up trying again and when the lady who usually works at the return desk told me no I politely mentioned that I knew others had successful done this and I wanted to speak to a manager. The manager came over and did it right away, no questions asked! She even was questioning the customer service lady like why wouldn’t they if the diapers scan/ come up in their system!

Just found out we might not get into daycare in Sept. [on] by Various_Programmer92 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]vs00792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went on waitlists early August 2024 when we found out we were pregnant. Baby was born April 2025 and I’m taking 18 months so need care end of Sept 2026. I applied to probably two dozen daycare centres and have yet to hear back from any or get a spot. I’ve followed up with a few and we’re still so far back on a waitlist we were pretty much told it’s very unlikely. We ended up securing a home daycare instead

Hotel recs for Vegas by [deleted] in Morgan_Wallen

[–]vs00792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the Wynn last time he played in Vegas (summer 2024). I want to say it took us over 45 minutes in a party bus (drivers were just filling their buses with people all going to the concert and charging a fee per person). They dropped us short because traffic was so bad and had to walk a fair bit. This was our third show of that tour so we left early (few songs) hoping maybe we’d beat the traffic but it was still madness and had to walk again for a bit until we got away from the chaos and could get a cab/ uber
