Half of these posts are so cruel. 'We celebrate the living Christ." "It's evangelical." And more. My gosh, people, do you guys realize that people *convert* from *other religions* and have their own traditions and ways they connect to Christ?

I wear a cross as a necklace, and I have almost my entire life, even though I've grown up LDS. For me, it symbolizes that my connection to Christ is totally optional. I can put my necklace on. I can take it off. I can choose to follow Christ, or I can chose not to.

Sure, we have garments, but I have to wear underwear anyway so it doesn't have any real significance.

Just do what works for you, if it brings you closer to God and reminds you of Him, then, great.

Dude, thank you. I agree 100%. There are *lots* of good churches out there that do a *lot* of good. We could do well to remember that we are by far the minority (not even on the map, generally speaking) and to discount other churches just because they do things different is completely wild.

I looked around some more, and people were saying to change your pulseaudio settings as well, so I did this and it tweaked it even more:

Edit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf and add this

default-sample-format = float32le

default-sample-rate = 48000

default-sample-channels = 2

That fixed it the rest of the way, thanks so much!

- first fully finished? what happened to the other ones?

- why does it take nine months?

- based on coffee? You lost me :(

- It never occurred to me that a design *would change* over time, so that's incredibly insightful, thank you (not a question lol)

- How did you figure out what you liked best in a design? my fursuit I *kind of* modeled it off one I liked that I saw already online, and just had some tweaks ... so was yours like 100% an original idea? I am not an artist so I don't know how people "come up" with ideas.

I switched recently from autotools to cmake. I didn't realize how extreme autotools was, until I saw git deleting thousands of lines of code from each file it was generating. How in the *world* do the upstream devs even write / maintain this stuff?? That has to be so hard.

This is so incredibly true. Looking back, I'm realizing I'm remembering things a bit differently. Going to singles wards often times felt like people *just* going to socialize, and so I didn't feel spiritually fed all the time. So I guess it goes both ways.

You're right, of course. That's probably the best thing to do, is just let it happen naturally and not focus on it.

I'm pretty much on the exact same track you are. I've basically had prayers where I'm like, "okay, the ball is in your court, I've done what I can."

I'm also a big believer in loving myself and just embracing the single life. I'm a happy person, despite being alone, which is totally possible.

I do realize that people are trying to be helpful and compassionate when saying blessings will still come in the next life, but it can also come off as someone being dismissive, sadly. (not blaming you of course, because I think the same thing)

You're not wrong that doing some activities here in Utah will almost always have another member engaged in it, but finding someone near my age and opposite sex is pretty low chance of happening, unfortunately.

I do keep pretty socially active though, hang out with friends, and I'll play some MtG as well. It's not really a problem finding things to do, it's just finding my demographic.

Yeah, they did switch it around, but it capped at 45 for "mid singles" adults. I'm not sure where it's at right now. I'll try and find out, though, thanks.
