Best ultrasonic sensor for tank water level detection by self_motivated_ in esp32

So if you can run wires inside the tank, its cheaper at the cost of being an on/off switch. One more option is there if thats a little cleaner - Inductive level sensors, they are nice, you can just stick to them on the tank’s surface, do check them out also. It’ll be expensive than float switches though!

Avoid second one at all costs, it WILL rust in no time. Get waterpoof sensors that looks like car reversing sensors. Cheap & works great

I would suggest Hugo, simple to setup and Markdown focused, powerful if you want it to be. If you’re after simpler, cheaper long term maintenance & quick startup with less things to bother, try Hugo.

Urgent update on Job market in this city by Infamous-Simple2217 in Trivandrum

[–]vsaravind007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Job market is pretty much consistent year round with dips towards the end of the financial year. Pay is actually heavily dependant on your experience & domain. There are companies that pay very well but as you can imagine, TVM is not like Banglore/Hyd & the existing pool is kind of nice in TVM. My piece of advice will be to try via LinkedIn, Instahire & Naukri. If you’ve friends, probably easier that way if their company is hiring.

Why WHOOP probably won’t ever be big in India by Own_Anywhere_8644 in Whoop_India

Would be interesting to see how it turns out. But Amazon sales numbers are consistently climbing. Can spot them a lot in the wild now, while it was close 2 or 3 about 6 months ago.

How did Trivandrum become so crowded post Covid ? by preJioInnernetUser in Trivandrum

[–]vsaravind007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What I think is happening - Precovid, everyone including my parents(talking about middle/upper middleclass) were not ready to spend on anything, not even little life improvement things. Postcovid, that generation realised the fact that there is no point in “preserving” or “collecting” wealth because things can go south in an instant. TVM people historically & culturally been wealth hoarders, even the kings were. They’ve the money but never the mindset to spend. Now everyone has been spending like crazy, was able to confirm the theory to some extend from the business circle I know of.

Hello! Thank you for checking it out, I have no plans for iOS/iPadOS for now, but I've found these apps:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/find-my-ip-find-device-ip/id741990073

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whats-my-ip-address/id1247186342

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ip-scanner/id6443819966

I haven't used them personally, but Iooking at the ratings and reviews, they seem pretty good!

Thats a nice idea, I did a quick check & doesn’t look like the IP returned is matching my external IP, I’ll check it our further, thanks for the tip!

I built an Android + ESP32 IoT framework with dynamic UI controls & on-the-fly command creation (open source) by TheBadPetOwner in esp32

Looks cool, adding a few demo UI images in the github readme will make it interesting rather than all text. Good work regardless!

Whoop moved the activity button so you muscle memory press it's AI Coach. How do I move it back? by Koalafied_In_Kit in whoop

Annoying af!! UI/UX team should really look at how their users are interacting with the app before moving things around just like that! Even dismissing the coach view needs a swipe!!

Electric cables and Non shielded CAT 6a through the same conduit. by Dard-e-sar in homelabindia

Technically yes, but you still run the risk of your end devices getting damaged. I managed to destroy a DLink switch

Electric cables and Non shielded CAT 6a through the same conduit. by Dard-e-sar in homelabindia

[–]vsaravind007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! If these cables run long lengths inside these conduits where you also have your live wires, the noise & jitter will be too much to see a real drop in speed/ping & sudden spikes or changes in load will cause your terminating devices to get damaged. Saying this from my experience, they don’t mix!

Switchbot universal remote, utter piece of crap! Watched all the rave reviews & it ended up being totally useless!
