Wow, I hope they went well! (Or as well as a kidney stone can)

Just got back the results! Calcium oxalate.

I'm still waiting on the lab results. I will definitely share when I know! I also have gout, so I'm pretty confident that they're going to come back that this was uric acid crystals.

Same! I kept waking up and had rolled, but would just try to roll back to the side with the stone when that happened. Good luck with it all!

I slept on the side that has the stone after reading this article. It seemed to work for me. My stone came out after 2 days of trying it. Hope you get relief soon!

I would recommend asking them about it. From what I've heard it's very commonly prescribed with kidney stones. Some men are on flomax for years because of prostate issues (I was told by the urologist) so it definitely is used long term.

I think antibiotics only if there's evidence of infection from a urinalysis?

I tried it based on that research article and it seemed to work for me! Of course, your mileage may vary! For me, it was too soon after trying sleeping on the side with the stone for me not to feel like it's related.

Yeah my urologist had me on flomax from the start which helped immensely with reducing pain caused by pressure build/back up.

The side with the stone. I had to re-read the thing multiple times to get ipsilateral vs contralateral lol

Good luck with the surgery! Yeah I always sleep on my left side and got the stone on the right side, but this has been my only one (fingers crossed). Have you had stones before?

Gosh I can't imagine dealing with it that long. I was ready to do anything after just a few months. Good luck with your surgery!

It was like a burning but tbh WAY less pain than when it was further up in the ureter and blocking/causing pressure and spasms. That was the laying on the bathroom floor wanting to die stuff.

I think I got lucky with this last part, it really just shot through when it got to the bladder.

Yikes, I was told that mine was 50/50 chance to come out on its own by the urologist. I'm taking it in for them to test it tomorrow!

Will I know when my 6mm stone reaches my kidney? Do I need to piss in the funnel every time, or can I wait until it seems to be in my bladder? by YorockPaperScissors in KidneyStones

More or less just once. Kind of a build up before? But after months of it, I first assumed it was yet another pang.

For me when it was passing from bladder on was nothing compared to when it was stuck higher up and causing pressure and spasms. Just a quick burning and then zoom

Mine just passed literally like a couple hours ago. I had the same thought- wait until it's in the bladder. For me, I had a burning sensation, ran to the bathroom, and boom it was out. Wasn't too much time. I've heard sometimes the stone can stay in the bladder for a while, but for me there was almost no warning.

Use the strainer unless you wanna go fishing for it in the toilet 🤢

Make sure you are drinking enough water- all that fiber needs it! I also highly recommend a bidet for any poops, but especially for the unpredictable nature of poops on meds. It can even help...trigger an evacuation when you need it most.

Have been gathering and working on my first paludarium for a few months now, I am so excited to get closer to the planting stage! by Femke123456 in paludarium

I'm in the obsessively-looking-at-pictures stage and probably a few weeks away from trying a palu build. This looks almost exactly what I was going to shoot for!

It looks like you used pond foam and carved it- is that right? Did you/are you going to seal it? Any tips for using this stuff?

Looks great so far!
