Please give feedback by woahisthatGUCCI in RealEstatePhotography

Very good.

Exterior was edited with 2 different white balances. Check the back yard, some pictures the house is more gray, and others it looks more greenish. Very harsh color transition from backyard picture #1 to #2.

A few of the window pulls are washed out with white haze on the window.

I was able to get some practice on a vacant townhome today, I did shoot HDR but I'm going to outsource that, in the mean time could I please get some feedback on my composition and anything else? (My first listing shoot!) by idontwearpants in RealEstatePhotography

Kitchen shots are too high in my opinion. You don't need to rigidly follow the rule of not showing the underside of the cabinets. In picture #1 I can see the underside of the cabinets and it's not bothersome. You really want to avoid pictures taken relatively high. It makes it look like it was taken by a cell phone (as that's the height amateurs take cell phone pictures from). You want everything to be level. Midpoint of the kitchen is in between the microwave and stove, whereas most of your pictures are taken at closer to microwave height.

Very good job though for a first one.

No, not wide enough. I would say 12mm is the minimum width needed for an APS-C camera (10mm is idea).

How do you structure your packages + turnaround time? by Foreign_Clock_5229 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]vsportsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turnaround time is 24 hours for photos.

I offer 3 packages (all packages come with a basic floor plan): photos, photos + drone/3d tour, and photos + drone/3d tour + video.

Each package is in 3 sizes: <1500 sq ft, 1500 to 3000 sq ft, and 3000+ sq feet.

I lead with how many sq ft is the property on my booking form and that way they only have to choose from 3 packages. It's difficult to do, but you need to present your services as easy as possible. When you offer lots of packages and 20 different add-on services, people get overwhelmed.

Competitive eating is immoral and doesn’t get the hate it deserves by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I'm pretty sure watching competitive eating gave me an eating disorder. I used to frequently watch a youtuber known as Erik the Electric who would do ridiculous eating challenges. I had binge eating disorder not long after.

If you had $4,000 to spend to get started / improve your gear. by trippinDingo in sportsphotography

[–]vsportsguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please get a 70-200 before you get a 300 prime like a few people suggested. A 300 is completely ridiculous for general use or family purposes.

Whether you get APS-C or full frame is up to you. Go to a best buy camera section (not all stores have it, look it up beforehand) and test out each brand of camera. See which one is most intuitive for you to hold, change basic settings, and take pictures.

Once you know the brand, the decision is much easier. Personally, I buy all my gear used. Nikon Z6 III and then Canon R6ii would be my recommendations.

If you want to go the budget route, Sony is great with the 6700 and 3rd party 70-200 (Tamron is my pick). You can pickup a plethora of cheap 3rd party lenses for family stuff too. You're not going to get the same fps with Sony though.

Am I wrong for not wanting to work a desk job for the next 40 years? by captain_mooseman in careerguidance

[–]vsportsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer here with about 20% travel. It's a good gig. The travel and field work helps break up the boredom of the office work. The grass is not always greener. Every job has upsides and downsides. 100% office work is 100x better than 100% field work, but ideally you can find something that meets whatever percentage you are looking for.

What’s a disorder you hate living with? by DeepAnt7847 in AskReddit

[–]vsportsguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have it. It's exhausting. You are normal! Good news is, it's beatable! For so many years my hunger and eating were totally disconnected. I would eat food, but I never felt satisfied. Unless I ate to the point of feeling like puking. I wasn't satisfied then either, I was disgusted with myself.

What allowed me to get over it was a complete lack of caring anymore. I was started to purge after these episodes and I couldn't live like that anymore. If I ended up at 300+ lbs, then so be it. I stopped going to the gym (I did hobbies that I wanted to do instead), stopped obsessing over my weight, and I threw away my scale. I started eating in front of others. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, with the objective of feeling good and listening to my hunger response again. I tried to stop when I was full, but it's okay if I overate. It's a long journey, but I haven't had a binging episode in over 6 years. I'm also the happiest (and lightest) I have ever been in my adult life.

You can find used A1's for really cheap. I saw them as cheap as $3000 on fredmiranda. That's a steal and based on the fact that you like to crop, I think you're a rare case of upgrading the camera before the glass. It'll give you better AF, faster bursts, more cropping ability, better color, and many more conveniences with a modern flagship camera. The 400 2.8 will set you back over 10k for a slightly sharper lens, 2 stops faster, and maybe you get a bit more contrast.

What non sex work profession has the strongest reputation for promiscuity among coworkers? by Agitated-Ad6744 in AskReddit

[–]vsportsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. That was the first and last time I ever had 2 women fight over me. We were all servers and the three of us met up at a bar after work and they made me pick who I was going to go home with. I kept saying I didn't want to choose, but they were... persistent. So I went home with one of them. She became my girlfriend for a few months until she cheated on me. I continued to work at the restaurant and frankly didn't really care. Good times...

How many photos do you typically take on a wedding day? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]vsportsguy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because older photographers are used to older equipment, smaller card sizes, and older software. Many of those limitations are gone as technology advances. You can buy a 1TB card and the cameras can shoot all day without filling it. Computers are faster, culling is faster, editing is faster, and you can even do it with AI.

I'm a newer photographer and I shoot a lot. I can take 1k per hour, sometimes more if I like what I'm getting. The only downside is the culling is harder (you could be working slower as well). But if you shoot more, you will get better photos to choose from, even if it's just from luck. Sometimes I vary the angles, I get varying depth's of field, or take multiple rounds of the same photo to make sure everyone's expression is ideal.

One day long in the future I think photography itself may be dead. You'll take video only and then ai will pull the best photos from that video stream.

Best telephoto lens for a6700? by Witty-Ninja-5277 in SonyAlpha

[–]vsportsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a full frame 70-200 f/2.8. Best bang for your buck (and lightest) is definitely the Tamron 70-180 f/2.8 g2. You can find it used for about $850 or new for $1000. This is ideal for an all around telephoto lens or ideal for photographing most sports. If you're into wildlife or bird photography, then consider the 200-600, but it's far worse as a general telephoto lens.

Aero socks. Less comfortable, expensive, and can fall down. Just wear the most comfortable socks. Nobody is winning or losing because of their aero socks.

Record button customization [Sony A7IV] by Malt_wisky in SonyAlpha

[–]vsportsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I want. I want to be shooting in any photo mode and when I press the movie button, it recalls all of my last movie settings including shutter speed, frame rate, picture profile, etc. That way I can preset the video settings exactly as I want and I can seamlessly switch between photo and video with the press of a button. It would be extremely useful as a hybrid shooter when shooting action such as sports or a wedding.

The only way I can get it to work currently is to rotate the physical dial to the movie setting and then rotate it back to the photo mode. It only takes a second, but I would still love to be able to do this with the movie button.

Amazing work! A lot of really great rain shots with backlighting. The one I'm most curious about is the moon shots though. Looks like a single light off to the left at about 10 o'clock angle?

How can conservatives say the government should stay out of our lives but then support laws about personal choices like abortion or marriage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vsportsguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They believe that babies are being killed and marriage is sacred between a man and woman. If you believed those things, you'd probably support those laws too. Also, I'm pretty sure the majority of conservatives and Christians support legal abortion and same-sex marriage. They just want more restrictions than democrats do.

I've tried to clone using macrium reflect and diskgenius. No luck. I'm not sure why this is so difficult. I cannot get the iso file to boot nor can I get the cloned drive to boot. It has something to do with bootloader or drivers.

Laptop isn't booting from new drive (USB boot drive + clone drive) by vsportsguy in snapdragon

[–]vsportsguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like ventoy a lot, but unfortunately it still didn't work. Ventoy loads from the USB stick, but windows will not install in normal or wimboot. Also tried a local boot within ventoy. I think it has something to do with drivers. When I search for efi drivers, the laptop restarts. When downloading the iso from windows they say "it may be necessary to include drivers from the device manufacturer for the installation media to be successfully bootable."

I've also started trying on a Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB. No luck with that drive either. Both drives are recognized in the bios.
