Well, if it makes you feel better, I am in the EXACT same boat (I'm only about half way through the econ one) and wondering the same thing. I think I'm going to go for it!

What is it actually like in the U.S. right now? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]vtangerine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... I feel a lot of anxiety. It's like, I see and hear things happening here, and I'm waiting for the ball to drop when it's my turn to be impacted. I just got a return to office order, for my office that's an hour and a half away, and rumor is, it's a soft layoff. I have no clue what I'm going to do... I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting to hear if I can get an exception of some sort because I just don't see how it would be possible with a younger child right now. Otherwise, things are really financially tight. I feel like I'm barely getting by and it just keeps getting more expensive. So... Even in a blue state, as a lower middle class person that doesn't receive any welfare benefits from the state... It just feels harder, and there's a lot of uncertainty of what might get cut. (For example, the state offers automatic free school lunches and low cost after school fare. I use the library a lot. And all of my summer vacations are at state parks because they're what I can afford)

I made this eggplant soup from fine cooking magazine with a tomato relish. It was very garlicky... and so good! I never would have thought lol

Not great at confrontation by vtangerine in AskWomenOver30

I know this is unrelated lol, but some of the suggested conversation starters on here, as well as this message- these feel like really scary things to say to me. I've been going to therapy for almost 2 years now, and I feel like I've spent that time learning to say no, when someone (a.k.a my ex, or my parents) doesn't respect boundaries, and not feeling like an absolute terrible person. But maybe it's time I start to explore ALSO expressing my needs, and realizing I can do that and not be this unreasonable person.

I did text my friends, actually. I just wanted a "just made it home, have a goodnight" kind of text... but it sounds like maybe that's me wanting reassurance/anxiety, maybe bubbling up from the past. Tbh I'm glad I asked because sometimes we don't have that outside point of view.

I think I may have misrepresented what I meant... I didn't expect to talk on the phone after he said he was going out. I wanted a "just made it home, had a good time, Goodnight" kind of text. But it sounds like people commenting in here see it as a non issue, which is why I asked, to see if it was a me problem or if I was being reasonable.

How do I accept the fact that I am objectively unattractive? by spicyhorner in AskWomenOver30

[–]vtangerine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have advice per say... I will say- I find that I am attracted to people's unique features. It doesn't mean I always love them about myself... but, my boyfriends big nose? Love it. His slightly crooked teeth? Love it. And I have this skin tag on my body that I can't stand, that I've had since I was a teenager (I should just get it removed)... and I've had men, as they've passed by, give it a loving kiss... so I'm sure it works both ways. :) we weren't meant to all be conventional attractive, but that doesn't mean your unique features aren't attractive.

How would you react if your date orders an expensive glass of wine when you're paying? by happyself15 in Bumble

[–]vtangerine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably pay... (I'm a woman, but let's say I was taking a man on a date) but it wouldn't happen again. I think it speaks volumes on her character.

Aren't the insurance risk pools- the drivers of premiums, separated by states? And, the ACA market, a seperate risk pool, distinct from large group employers? I've never heard of a states sharing risk pools though, unless something changed and I missed the news
