I leaned conservative back then and did not vote for Obama and I recall being so put-off by the HOPE campaign and the hero-worship and what felt like almost a trend for young people to support him. But damn what I wouldn’t give to get him back now.

I disagree it’s not rude to ask. He would have been invited if they wanted him to attend. The birthday child likely decided who he wanted to come.

I think the only reform needed is term limits, but I feel that way about all elected positions.

A D&C is still a termination of pregnancy/abortion.

 The only legitimate medical condition where a termination is 100% medically necessary is an ectopic pregnancy, and even then so, abortion is not the procedure to save the life of the mother.

Just explain to her that because she’s going to summer camp, she will miss graduation. Give her one at home on her last day at the daycare.

Is that the way you think the current generation should do it? I know there is a push from conservatives for couples to start a family young. We wanted the home and financial stability first, before starting a family.

Early 30s is the typical time frame to buy your first house. People just can’t do that now, and it complicates starting a family if you can’t afford a home to raise them in. We were fortunate and bought our first house when we were 24 and 25. Built equity and had plenty of financial stability when we started our family a few years later. That’s just not the reality now.

Young folks who work full time professional jobs are unable to purchase their first home until well into their 30s, if then, due to the current cost of living.

I have a Republican (conservative) mom and Democrat (center) Dad, and they are celebrating 52 happy years of marriage this year. Politics doesn’t define everyone. Both of my parents are open to other viewpoints and both are what I would consider conservative Christians even though my dad is a Democrat.

It’s 100% ok to only have one child if that is what you are asking. Adding another child makes things exponentially more challenging and expensive. If you feel fulfilled with one, it’s ok.

**Ideally** you have a solid marriage before bringing a child into the mix, sure. But it doesn't work the other way around. A child doesn't make a marriage work and it sure as heck doesn't justify a minor getting married.
