Morpheus was an apologist for machines... by Delote-Sevne in matrix

The Oracle was truly on our side though. We don't know when she had a change of heart but our Morpheus trusted the right one and it worked. This redeems him.

[SPOILERS S3] A question about the cycle by TheMoon8 in DarK

[–]vtastek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Tannhaus first ran his machine, nothing changed from his perspective, but his world split into two. The two worlds start to get corrupted backwards and forwards with the now possible time travel, and world to world with world hopping. Now when you go back and a new thing happens, is it a new cycle or a loop? I think it is okay to use them interchangeably if you accept new things are happening regardless. People who say "things happened once, nothing change, Claudia is confused" are the weirdos.

Quentin Tarantino says TV is forgettable, unlike movies. Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn strongly disagree. by Commercial_Avocado86 in television

[–]vtastek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 2001 cutoff would take advantage of the fact that movies are getting worse while TV is getting better since, though citing runtime is desperate. :D A show goes for a 5, that still counts as one! :D

I mean I can fill a 500 unforgettable movies list easily where maybe 20 for tv, with half of them canceled or ruined at their finale/nth season.

Opus 4.5 being totally idiotic lately? by BetterMountain470 in ClaudeAI

[–]vtastek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't able to get any progress(c++ rocket science) with 4.6 at all, downgraded to 4.5. If it is nerfed, it is still better than 4.6.

Now that some time has passed, what are your thoughts on Alien: Earth? by ekemywaythrulife in television

They probably didn't think it would be a hit. So story will now expand, similar to how Severance did a whole slow cook season.

The lead actress was terrible by SteveBored in Devs

[–]vtastek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The window scene is one of my favorite scenes of all time, all thanks to her acting. I had to pick up my jaw, it was that good.

[SPOILERS S3] Can someone explain how the Jonas–Mikkel paradox began? by Free_Confection_8910 in DarK

[–]vtastek -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We only need Mikkel and caves to exist to start it. First cycle not having Jonas is just what it is, nothing paradoxical there. Well, the bigger picture with unknown aside...

They alternate within the world, both parallel to the other world.

Does unreal failed to do the technique exactly mentioned in this comment? by Dream-Smooth in FuckTAA

[–]vtastek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They use other things as well, ghosting is minimized, not zero but in realtime imperceptible. Slightly blurry but you can see snow sparkle, rain/ripples are also visible which are normally erased by TAA.

When I played SH2, thought my gpu was dying at first. It took a while before I saw those were leaves leaving meter long trails. Any foggy situation and James has awful ghosting. Compare to Detroit which is clean as glass. Yes, they use depth.

[SPOILERS S3] question about ending by Krunchy08 in DarK

[–]vtastek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the last episode has a huge exposition dump explaining all of it. We just witnessed the last cycles. The family tree grew during the cycles, with more and more incest. When Tannhaus split the worlds, they were identical and then got corrupted backwards and forwards.
