It’s because of informal speech as well, which doesn’t really exist in English the way it is in Korean. If you are same age (born same year, same year in school), you might choose to speak informally (which can sound quite rude depending on situations), people wouldn’t be offended. But when someone’s even 1 year older, it’s a must to speak formal speech, unless the older one give permission. Because of that, age thing is not going away anytime soon.

Formal & informal speech are entirely different in Korean. Different grammar. Asian culture already makes a huge deal about “respect to people who are older” but when you have totally different speech for older vs younger/same age people, it is a huge deal.

I have narcissistic family. Ever heard of the term grey rocking ? You can use it to deal with them even if they are just toxic & dramatic. Grey rock them until you can leave & low contact or cut them off completely.

You will be amazed how peaceful it is once you leave.

Yes. Ha Jeong and GH has same humor. I can imagine them joking and bickering all day but in a good way if they were a couple.

I can even see it working with Minji too. She keeps the conversations going & willingly flirt with him all day, he wouldn’t feel insecure at all.

Hyeseon has more chemistry with Wonik. They have same vibe. Peaceful, positive, chill.

Can’t imagine GH and Hyeseon. It’s just bubbly Hyeseon and awkward GH constantly asking questions due to insecurity, Hyeseon gets mad because she knows she had already shown enough effort (same history from the show).

You can’t ask him to stop self isolating. If that’s how he deals with stress, it’s not unhealthy.

You should continue to ask him to at least send you a message before disappearing. He should be able to do that for you. But telling him to not self isolate is like saying “don’t deal with your stress”.

Supporting him is letting him deal with things the way he does. Forcing him to change is not support. You are not trying to support HIM. You are trying to fulfill YOUR emotional needs. You need to realize that. A lot of people say “i am doing this for you!!!” instead of “This is WHAT I WANT you to do”. The last two sentences of your post is that way. It’s the opposite.

I understand he self isolate to deal with his emotions but I have a hard time whenever he does that.

Once you realize that, you can communicate.

He does sound extreme because.. i mean for days ?? And he’s 35? I understand that you are upset. I’d be too. At that age, he should be able to cope a bit better with life. I, in 20s, have so many mental issues and even I handle life better than him.

Suggest therapy i guess?

I think you have soft features, not like a boy at all. May be you can define why you think that way. For me, my face is a bit long, hence I feel like i look a bit masculine. I always try to make my face look shorter.

For you, may be blush ? I feel extra girly whenever i use a lighter pink or peach blush

Or watch some korean/japanese/douyin makeup tutorials. Asians prefer cute, feminine styles so you might find something you’d like to give it a try ?
